According to Chief Deputy Charley Melton, on March 5, Deputy Nick Taylor made a traffic stop on a vehicle in Horseshoe Bend. During the stop it was learned that Steve Lyles, age 46 of Horseshoe Bend, had a warrant for failure to appear out of the Izard County District Court. While searching Lyles, Taylor located pills on Lyles' person that he did not have a prescription for. As a result, Lyles was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class "d" felony. His court date on the failure to appear was set for April 7 in the Izard County District Court. The court date for the possession charge was set for April 1 in the Izard County Circuit Court. Lyles' bond was set at $5,000 professional for both charges.

On March 7, Deputies were assisting the Arkansas Department of Corrections and the Arkansas State Police conduct a road block at the entrance of the North Central Unit. A vehicle, occupied by Dawn Atlas, age 41 of Malvern, and Karen Witham, age 61 of Malvern, was searched. During the search methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located. As a result, both were charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class "b" felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a class "a" felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a class "d" felony. Witham was also charged with DWI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Atlas' bond was set at $20,000 professional. Witham's bond was set at $20,820 professional. The court date on the felony charges was set for April 1 in the Izard County Circuit Court. Witham's court date on the misdemeanor charges was set for April 9 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 8, Deputy J Barnes made a traffic stop on a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road approximately 500 feet from a stop sign in Horseshoe Bend. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Kiersten Laylin, age 35 of North Little Rock. During the stop Deputy Barnes searched the vehicle and located schedule II prescription drugs that Laylin did not have a prescription for. As a result, Laylin was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class "c" felony. Her bond was set at $10,000 professional with a court date of April 1 in the Izard County Circuit Court.

On March 7, Colter Vanhorn, age 28 of Batesville, was arrested by Deputy D.J. Tiernan on a warrant for failure to pay fines. Vanhorn was given an OR bond with a court date of April 9 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 7, Melissa Boyce, age 43 of Locust Grove, was arrested by Deputy Nick Taylor for possession of a controlled substance. Boyce's bond was set at $1,250 professional with a court date of April 7 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 7, Eric Jackson, age 46 of Melbourne, was arrested by Sgt. Mike Smith for DWI 2, leaving the scene of an accident, and disorderly conduct. Jackson was given an OR bond with a court date of April 9 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 8, Mellisa Traversie, age 38 of Melbourne, was arrested by Deputy Sean Tomlinson on a warrant for failure to appear. Traversie's bond was set at $740 cash with a court date of March 19 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 9, Roy Sanders, age 44 of Pineville, was arrested by Deputy Toby Smith for possession of a controlled substance. Sanders was given an OR bond with a court date of April 23 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 9, Roger Slaughter, age 45 of Batesville, was arrested by Deputy Brent Engles for possession of drug paraphernalia. Slaughter's bond was set at $1,120 professional with a court date of April 9 in the Izard County District Court.

On March 9, Amanda Sanders, age 42 of Gepp, was arrested by Deputy Brent Engles for possession of a controlled substance. Sanders was given an OR bond with a court date of April 9 in the Izard County District Court.
