IZARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT SHERIFF JACK YANCEY

According to Chief Deputy Charley Melton, on May 10 Deputy J Barnes was patrolling Highway 56 near Myron when a silver car, that Deputy Barnes was meeting, crossed the centerline and continued towards Deputy Barnes vehicle. Deputy Barnes had to take immediate action to keep from being hit head on. Deputy Barnes made a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Stephanie William, age 29 of Melbourne. During the course of the stop, Deputy Sean Tomlinson arrived on scene and deployed his K-9 partner, Hugo. Hugo gave a positive alert on the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, and numerous pills were located. As a result, William was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance; class "C" felonies, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; class "D" felonies, two counts of possession of a controlled substance; class "A" misdemeanors, DWI, driving left of center, and obstructed windshield. William is scheduled to appear in the Izard County Circuit Court on June 17 for the drug charges. She is scheduled to appear in the Izard County District Court on July 23 for the driving charges.
