On October 14, Deputy Tyler Webb performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on East Spring Hill Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Codi Stanton (Schales), age 27 of Horseshoe Bend. During the traffic stop, the vehicle and her purse was searched. In the search a syringe and a baggie with white residue was located along with marijuana. Stanton was taken into custody and transported to the Izard County Jail.
Once at the jail, marijuana, and an additional syringe was located on Stanton's person.
As a result, Stanton has been charged with the following;
Possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to ingest methamphetamine, a class "D" felony
Possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to store, contain, or conceal methamphetamine, a class "D" felony
Furnishing prohibited articles into a correctional facility, a class "B" felony
Possession of marijuana, a class "A" misdemeanor
At the time of the arrest Stanton was on parole with the Arkansas Community Corrections. A warrant for parole violations was also issued on her.
Stanton is being held with no bond and a court date in the Izard County Circuit Court of October 28.
