IZARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT SHERIFF JACK YANCEY

10/27/2020

On October 24 the Izard County Sheriff's Department participated in the Arkansas Prescription Drug Take Back program. This gave the citizens the opportunity to dispose of potentially dangerous, expired, unused or otherwise unwanted prescription medications in a safe way.

Approximately 295 pounds of unused medications was collected in Izard County to be properly disposed of.

You may drop off any unused prescription medications anytime at the drop boxes located at the Sheriff's Department or at the Sheriff's Department Sub-Station at Horseshoe bend.

Syringes, needles or other sharps, inhalers, aerosol cans, mercury thermometers, and iodine-containing medications are not allowed in the drop boxes.
