CHEROKEE WOMAN FACES FELONY DRUG CHARGE
Cherokee Woman Faces Felony Drug Charge A Cherokee Village woman was arrested January 11 on an Izard County warrant afelony drug charge. Sony Elise Wiggins, age 39 was charged with possession of controlled substance-ecstasy. Wiggins posted a $50,000 bond and was given a date to appear in Izard County Circuit Court. Steven William Chute, age 20 of Pineville was arrested January 15 on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Chute is accused of inflicting injury on his step father during an altercation between the two. Chute made provisions for bond and was released the same day from the Izard County Detention Facility. Lester Franklin Jared, age 65 of the Forty Four Community was arrested January 11 on charges of include driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and disorderly conduct. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Jared was combative and uncooperative during his booking into the Izard County Detention Facility. Jared posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,260 and was released with a court date. Daniel Wayne Dwight, age 20 of Calico Rock was arrested January 14 on a Baxter County warrant. Dwight has additional charger pending in Izard County and upon release from Baxter will be transported to the Izard County Detention Facility. Jacquliene Beatrice Vanevera age 61 of Mountain Home was arrested January 11 on a warrant from Baxter County. Vanevera was released to Baxter County authorities. Roger Lee Johnson, age 40 of Batesville was arrested probation violation warrant on January 13. Johnson is on a no bond status and will remain incarcerated until the February term of Circuit Court. Four inmates were transported to the Arkansas Department of Correction to began serving prison time. The individuals include Lynn Eugene Young, age 47 of Calico Rock; Charles Russell Earle, age 57 of Horseshoe Bend; Larry Joe Long, age 32 of Searcy; and James Paul Morrison, age 48 of Crawford.
