|A Calico Rock man was arrested Saturday with charges pending relating to the theft of guns from multiple residences. Lewie Elmer Branscum, age 24 is accused of stealing guns and pawning them at area pawn shops. At the time of his arrest, Branscum tested positive for amphetamines and meth. Branscum is also on a hold from the department of correction and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that charges unrelated to the gun thefts are also being investigated.
Another Calico Rock man was arrested February 11 on a drug related charge. Jessie Ray Brock, age 28 was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Brock appeared before District Judge David Miller and given a court date.
Donnie Ray Woodcock, age 29 of Calico Rock was arrested February 9 on a Baxter County warrant. Woodcock was released to Baxter County authorities.
James Earl Jones, age 42 of Calico Rock was arrested February 8 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication. Jones ;posted bond later that day in the amount of $1,435 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Three Calico Rock juvenile males, two age 11 and one age 13, were cited Friday on the charge of criminal mischief. The three are accused on destroying gravesite ornaments at the Roselawn Cemetery. The three were given a court date.
Charles Fred Wade, age 36 of Sidney was arrested February 8 on changes of public intoxication, operating a vehicle without license plates, operating a vehicle without insurance, and driving on a suspended license. Wade posted bond the same day in the amount of $1,245 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Christopher Ray Chandler was arrested February 11 on a Stone County warrant. Chandler was transferred from the Izard County Detention Facility to Stone County.
Jennifer Estalee Steward of Salem is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility on a Benton County, Missouri probation violation warrant. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Steward is awaiting extradition proceedings.
Ledell Strickland , Jr. of Batesville was arrested February 10 on charges of driving while intoxicated, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving without a license and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Strickland appear in Izard County District Court the following day, fined and released.
