Late Saturday night, Deputy Phil Story was dispatched to a residence on Gorby Road, Calico Rock regarding a possible overdose. However, while enroute the call was upgraded to a domestic violence situation. Donald David Dickey, age 74 was arrested on the scene and charged with violating a protection order previously issued against him. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Dickey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before District Judge David Miller.
Two people were arrested during the early morning hours of Sunday after deputies responded to a residence on Larkin Road in Melbourne. While deputies were attempting to obtain information regarding an earlier incident at the residence, Trystin R. Howell, age 21 threatened a neighbor and became unruly. Sheriff Lawrence said that Howell appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug and was transported to a Calico Rock hospital and later to the Izard County Detention Facility where he was charged with public intoxication-drugs, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass. Howell remains in the Izard County Detention Facility. Melissa Casey, age 30 also appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug and was having great difficulty standing, following instructions and answering questions. Casey stated that she was missing several hydroco/apap 325 mg tablets. A prescription container of this medication filled on June 4 with a quantity of 180 contained only 91 pills. Casey was charged with public intoxication-drugs and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Randall Chad Walker, age 42 of Mt. Pleasant was arrested early Sunday morning on a failure to appear warrant. Walker remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a cash bond in the amount of $1,060.
Virginia Knight, age 37 of Norfolk was arrested June 1 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Knight posted bond later in the day and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Deputy Acy Beebe was dispatched late Wednesday afternoon to Knob Creek Road, Melbourne in response to a male staggering down the road, bare footed and carrying guitar. According to Sheriff Lawrence, Deputy Beebe heard a voice yelling from a wooded area and discovered Jimmy D. Barnett, age 49 of Newport in a small clearing consuming a beer. Barnett was transported to the Izard County Detention Facility on the charge of public intoxication. Barnett posted bond the following day in the amount of $205 and was released.
Debra Smallwood, age 45 of Violet Hill was arrested June 1 on a Sharp County warrant. Smallwood was later transported to Sharp County.
