STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED
When responding to a compliant June 22 that a vehicle parked on the property of the Wiseman Post Officer was interfering with customers, Izard County deputies discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Ozarka College campus at Ash Flat. Registration information indicated the vehicle was owned by Fredrick Beack of Horseshoe Bend. Izard County Investigator Charles Melton and Ash Flat Police Chief Wiles interviewed a male juvenile who admitted stealing the vehicle. The juvenile said that his mother dropped him off at the college and that she often failed to pick him up after class so he decided to steal the vehicle in order to have a way home. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the case had been turned over to the Ash Flat Police Department.
