In an investigation by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department involving multiple thefts, two arrests have been made and some of the property has been recovered. John Edward Rone, age 23 of Melbourne was arrested January 18 in connection with thefts from the farm of John and Linda House of West Road, Mt. Pleasant; and the Conway Miller Farm near Sage. Rone was charged with breaking or entering, a class “d” felony, theft of scrap metal, a class “c” felony; theft by receiving, a class “c” felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Items recovered from the House farm include various tools including drill bits, tool boxes, a cordless saw, drill, jig saw, light, and sander. Value of the recovered property is estimated at over $500. Copper wiring from the Conway Miller Farm he is accused of stealing has not been recovered. Rone remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $20,000 bond and a hold by the Arkasnas Department of Correction.
Also charged in connection with the Conway Miller Farm theft was Jerry L Lewis, age 21 of Batesville. Lewis’ charges include breaking or entering, a class “d” felony and theft of scrap metal, a class “c” felony. Lewis remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that some items stolen from the Leroy Shaver residence near Mt. Pleasant and from a cabin on River Road near Guion have also been recovered. Sheriff Lawrence said these investigations are ongoing and charges are anticipated..
In an unrelated matter, charges have been formalized against a father and son in connection with attempting to convey real estate which they did not own. Johnny Mack Cox, Sr. and his son Johnny Mack Cox, Jr. of Sharp County are accused of attempting to sell acreage owned by another party and the buyer had placed earnest money toward the purchase. The two are charged with criminal attempt, theft by deception, a class “c” felony. Sheriff Lawrence said that neither had been arrested and anyone knowing their whereabouts is asked to contract the Investigator Charles Melton or Sheriff Lawrence of the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.
Adrienne Zoe Morris, age 27 of Calico Rock was arrested Friday on the charge of possession of a controlled substance. Zoe remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,500 bond..
Nicholas Benjamin Speak, age 32 of Calico Rock was arrested Thursday on multiple jurisdiction warrants and has been placed on a criminal investigation hold pending additional charges. His brother, Nathaniel Allen Lee Speak, age 27 of the same address was arrested the following day for possession of a controlled substance and also remains in the Izard County Detention Facility..
Bobby Ray Eddy, age 44 of Guion Road, Melbourne was arrested Saturday on the charge of fraudulently using a credit card and a Horseshoe Bend warrant. Eddy remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $5001 bond.
Ronald James Hall of Old Dolph Road, Calico Rock was arrested Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving left of center. Hall posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,185 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Paula Rae Collins, age 43 of Mt. Pleasant was arrested January 24 on the charge of criminal trespass. Collins posted bond the following day in the amount of $250 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Richard David Vanhorn, age 55 of Melbourne was arrested Friday on the charge of harassment. Vanhorn was later released and given a court date.
Tabitah R. Cheek, age 29 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested January 26 on the charge of criminal contempt of court. Cheek was transferred the following day to a treatment facility.
Charles Daniel Booth, age 27 of Cherokee Village was arrested on January 26 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Booth remains in the Izard County Detention Facility with a hold placed on him by Baxter County authorities.
Keith Christopher George, age 23 of Cherokee Village was arrested January 24 on a failure to pay fines warrant. George was released January 27 and given a court date.
Jasmin Rose Steffan, age 29 of Mountain Home was arrested on a failure to pay fines warrant. A $635 bond was posted the following day and Steffan was released.
A Mt. Pleasant man, forty three year old Randall Wayne Walker was arrested January 24 on a failure to appear warrant. Walker posted bond the following day in the amount of $600 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
