Late Thursday night, Izard County Deputies Chris Marshall and Phil Story were dispatched to a reported fight in progress call at a Calico Rock apartment complex and that a female had barricaded herself inside her apartment to separate herself from a male aggressor. Upon arrival by deputes, a male later identified as Donald Mallet, age 37 was observed outside the apartment. Mallet smelled of intoxicants. The female was in a back room with her two juvenile daughters, age 6 and 9. The front door to the apartment appeared to have been kicked in with estimated damage at $500. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Mallet was arrested on charges of public intoxication, assault on a household member, criminal mischief, and two counts of endangering the welfare of child. Mallet remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
In response to a call of a motor vehicle accident and an intoxicated driver on county road 57, Senior Deputy Gabe Sanders was dispatched to that location and determined that the driver had ran into the ditch but was not intoxicated. The driver, Kevin Quinton, age 41 of Salem was taken into custody on multiply Baxter County warrants.. In the course of inventorying the vehicle prior to it being towed, a small clear bag containing a green leafy vegetable substance believed to be marijuana was confiscated. Quinton claimed ownership of the bag and was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Quinton was later released from the Izard County Detention Facility, transported to a medical facility and given a September 15 court date.
Late Saturday night , deputies were dispatched to residence on Pearl Drive in Mt. Pleasant in responded to a physical domestic dispute. Upon arrival deputies were informed that the aggressor, identified as 20 year old Marcie Moser had left the residence. Soon thereafter Moser returned to the residence where he was asked to submit to a field sobriety test to which he refused saying he would fail the test. Moser is accused of starting fight with his 17 year old brother. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Moser was charged with driving while intoxicated and domestic battery. Moser remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an initial court appearance.
Shannon David Edwards, age 32 of Ravenden was arrested August 15 on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving left of center, and no seat belt. Edwards posted bond the following day in the amount of $2,965 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a September 15 court date.
Alexander Blake Rouse, age 19 of Salem was arrested August 15 on Izard and Sharp County hot check warrants. Rouse posted bond in the amount of $766 and was released with a court date.
Virginia Ruth Knight, age 38 of Norfork was arrested Thursday on a violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant. Knight remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $628 bond.
Eric Lee Brantner, age 30 of Oxford was arrested August 16 on Wisconsin child support. Brantner was released the same day per authority of Wisconsin authorities due to medical reasons.
Ashley Michele Sherrill, age 24 of Pineville was arrested Thursday on a Baxter County misdemeanor warrant. Sherrill posted bond in the amount of $185 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Two individuals appearing in Izard County Circuit Court on August 15 was jailed on contempt of court charges after testing positive for methamphetamine and other drugs. Megan Marie Roche, age 21 of Hardy and Jessie Wayne Rogers, age 28 of Highland will remain in the Izard County Detention Facility until their next scheduled court appear on September 6.
Jeff Lindsey Hall, Jr., age 38 of Batesville was arrested Sunday on an Izard County failure to appear warrant. Hall remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bond.
Joshua Nelson Spangler, age 18 of Melbourne was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Facility following being sentenced August 15 to the Arkansas Department of Correction. Spangler is awaiting prison bed space..
