LOUISIANA ARRESTED ON RAPE CHARGE

The Izard County Sheriff’s Department assisted the U. S. Marshals Service Friday morning in the arrest of William Charles Langley, Jr., age 40 of Louisiana.   The arrest warrant from Acadia Parish in Louisiana accuses Langley of aggravated Rape. According to the arrest warrant, the victim was a seven year old child.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the warrant did not specify if the child was male or female.  Langley was arrested at 101 Johnson View Road (County Road 55), Violet Hill at the residence of Brenda Andis.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Langley was attempting to avoid arrest by escaping through a basement window of the residence when officers arrived but was quickly subdued and taken into custody. Langley remains in the Izard County Detention Faciliity awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

Laci Dawn Jones, age 20 of Izard County (she stated she was homeless and stayed at different places) was arrested Saturday on a forgery 1st degree charge.  The warrant of arrest stems from Jones forging  a check on the account of another person and cashing the check at a Melbourne business.  Forgery 1st degree, according to Sheriff Tate Lawrence is a class “b” felony.  At the time of her arrest, Jones was drug tested and tested positive for opiates, and meth. Jones remains in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond.

Timothy Mance Langston, age 25 of Newark was arrested Saturday on a failure to pay fines warrant.  Langston posted a $385 cash bond the day of his arrest, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

A Dolph woman,  thirty one year old Bobbie Renee Kelley was arrested Saturday  on a violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant. Kelley was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the day of her arrest after posting  a cash bond in the amount of $497 and given a court date.

Steve Gene Jarrett, age 51 of Cushman was arrested January 23 on a failure to appear in court warrant.  Jarrett remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,000 cash bond.

Timothy Brewer, age 54 of Batesville was arrested January 24 on a failure to pay fines warrant.  Brewer appeared before District Judge David E. Miller, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Robert Simmons, age 59 of Calico Rock was arrested January 24 on a Baxter County warrant and was transferred the following day to that jurisdiction.
