02/20/2012 NORFORK WOMAN ARRESTED ON NUMEROUS FELONY CHARGES |

Ashley Blalock, age 35 of Norfork was arrested Sunday on numerous charges including four felonies and one misdemeanor. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the charge of furnishing prohibited articles into a correctional facility is the result of Blalock bringing a bible containing tobacco, rolling papers, and synthetic marijuana, a schedule VI controlled substance into the Izard County Detention Facility for the purpose of giving the prohibited articles to Carl Vannater who at time was an inmate. Furnishing prohibited articles is a class “b” felony Blalock is also charged with conspiring with another for the purpose of promoting or facilitating the commission of the above criminal offense. Conspiracy to furnish prohibited articles is a class “c” felony. The charge of unlawful use of a communication device was brought against Blalock as the results of phone conversations she and the inmate discussing how Blalock would obtain the prohibited articles, how she would conceal them in a bible and deliver the bible to the Inmate Vannater. Unlawful use of a communication device is a class “c” felony. Blalock was charged with a fourth felony, class “d’, that being possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to conceal a controlled substance. Blalock is also charged with possession of controlled substance, a class “a’ misdeemed. Blalock remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $25,000 bond. Similar charges have been filed and an arrest will be executed against Carl Vannater of Pineville ,who is currently incarcerated at the Arkansas Department of Correction.
