Stephen Anthony Townsend, age 42 of Oxford who was earlier charged and in jail for battery third degree was further charged with being in possession of a fire arm by a convicted felon. Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that upon a search of Townsend’s residence, a hand grenade, a couple of homemade explosive devices, and guns were found . Townsend was released July 13 from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting bond in the amount of $12,500.
In an unrelated matter, two Oxford people and two others were charged with child endangerment along with other charges July 11 following an incident in Oxford. Trystin Robert Howell, age 23 of 111 Main Street, Oxford was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of disorderly conduct. Howell remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $250 cash bond. In the same incident, Kayla Nichole Williams , age 23 of the same address was charged with endangerment and disorderly conduct. Williams posted bond the following day in the amount of $250 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Drake Andrew Babson, age 18 of Cabot was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, disorderly conduct, and careless and prohibited driving. Babson posted bond the following day in the amount of $250 and was released with a court date.
Randall Nic Bray, age 35 of Oxford was arrested July 14 on a felony hot check warrant. Bray posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $7,120 and was released with a court date.
Shawn David Richard, age 38 of Ash Flat was arrested July 12 with charges pending to include the theft of firearms and other charges. Richard remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
A Calico Rock couple was arrested July 12 following an incident of a child being bitten by a dog and requiring medical attention. Arrested were forty one year old Leonard Raymond Vandervegte and Angle Marie Vandervegte, age 36 both of 3149 Highway 56. Both were released and given a court date after appearing before District Judge David E. Miller.
Christina Elizabeth Ramsey, age 33 of Albuquerque, New Mexico was arrested July 11 on a failure to pay fines warrant and released the following day to Independence County authorities.
Christopher Adam Christie, age 26 of Salem was arrested July 11 on a failure to appear warrant and was released the following day to Fulton County authorities.
Following a call to Chessman Ferry Road in Calico Rock Thursday night in reference to an intoxicated and combative male, deputies arrested George Christopher Grande, age 24 of Ward on the charge of public intoxication. Grande posted bond the following day in the amount of $205 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Mathew Wayne McQueen, age 23 of Skyview was arrested July 11 on a failure to pay fines warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $300 cash bond.
William Ruben Powell, age 33 of Beebe was arrested July 10 on a failure to appear warrant and appeared in district court July 12 and was released.
Cody James Allen, age 19 who gave his address as being homeless was arrested July 14 on a failure to pay fines warrant relating to an earlier DWI conviction. Allen remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $547 bond.
Philip Michael Barnes, age 35 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested July 13 on a failure to appear warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond.
