Sheriff Tate Lawrence announced today that following an undercover drug operations by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial District Judicial Drug Task Force, along with other public safety agencies, thirty five charges have been filed against six Izard County residents. Calvin Don Wilson, Sr., age 62 of 163 Old Arkansas Highway 69 is facing twelve felony charges and three misdemeanor charges. Wilson is charged by warrant with six counts of maintaining a drug premise within 100 feet of a church, which are class “b” felonies.. Wilson’s drug premise is near the Assembly of God Church off Old Arkansas Highway 69. Wilson is also charged with delivery of controlled substances on numerous occasions near certain facilities, namely the Assembly of God Church, which is an unclassified enhancement to all of his charges and provides an additional ten year sentence if convicted.. From April this year until just recently, Wilson is accused of making six deliveries of marijuana, one delivery of Methadone, and one delivery of Triazolam. These delivery charges include three misdemeanors and five felonies. Wilson was arrested Thursday morning at his residence and during a search of the residence a container of marijuana was located along with other drug related items and a firearm. As a result of the search, Wilson was additionally charged with six additional counts to include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Wilson was charged as an habitual offender. Calvin Don Wilson, Sr. is facing 21 charges in total. Wilson posted bond in the amount of $65,000 and is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court.. Calvin Don Wilson ,Jr. ,age 30 of the Wilson residence was arrested on the charge of drug paraphernalia as a result of the residence search. Wilson ,Jr. was later released with a court date on this misdemeanor charge after posting a $1,105 bond. Marklin Daniel Wilson, also of the residence was charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, a class ‘a“ misdemeanor. Marklin Wilson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,230 bond. Total arrests in the Wilson residence amounted to 23 charges. In a separate undercover operation, Sheriff Lawrence said that Rebecca Diane Dockins, age 31 of 535 Court Street in Melbourne is charged with maintaining a drug premise, a class “c” felony, and four separate counts of delivery of Oxycodone. Two of the delivery charges are class “c” felonies while one charge is a class “b” felony. Dockins was arrested Thursday and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $30,000 bond. In yet another operation, a Horseshoe Bend man, Brenton Nicholas Needles, age 26 has been charge with delivery of Hydrocodone and Methamphetamine, each a class “b” felony; and delivery of methamphetamine, a class “c” felony. Needles, according to Sheriff Lawrence ,is also charged with delivering these illegal drugs from the residence of Kevin Cox in Melbourne which is in close proximity to a public facility-school , an unclassified felony that provides a ten year enhancement to a prison sentence. Needles was arrested Thursday and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $40,000 bond. The residence of Kevin Cox was searched Thursday morning in conjunction with the other arrests and Cox was charged with maintaining a drug premise, class “b“ felony; possession of methamphetamine, a class “d” felony, possession or use of drug paraphernalia, a class “d” felony, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, a class “d” felony. Cox remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $30.000 bond Another Melbourne man, Marcus Colt Montgomery, age 27 has been charged as the result of the undercover operation with two drug felony chares and one drug misdemeanor charge. Montgomery is charged with delivery of Oxycodone, a class “c” felony and delivery of marijuana, a class “a” misdemeanor. Montgomery is also charged with delivering these drugs in close proximity to a public facility, an unclassified felony providing a ten year enhancement to a prison sentence. Montgomery is yet to be arrested. Sheriff Lawrence acknowledged the assistance provided by 16th Drug Task Force, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, the Mountain View Police Department, the Arkansas State Police, and the Game and Fish Commission in making these early morning arrests. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that he anticipates other charges in the near future as the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force continue to address illegal drug activity in the county.
