A Calico Rock man was arrested November 25 on a sexual assault compliant. William Winston Taylor, age 41 was arrested and formally charged with rape, a class “y” felony against a 21 year-old female. . During the course of the investigation, another compliant, an adult female, came forward stating that she had been raped by the same individual approximately two months ago, resulting in an additional charge of rape, also a class “y” felony. Williams posted bond in the amount of $100,000 and given an Izard County Circuit Court date of December 17th. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that it is department policy to not release the names, addresses, or any other identifying information of sexual assault victims. In an unrelated sexual assault case, Jonathan Wesley Yates, age 28 of Mt. Pleasant was charged November 28 with sexual assault fourth degree. The compliant is an underage female extended family member. Yates posted bond the following day in the amount of $250 and given an Izard County District Court date. Larry Joe Herring, age 34 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested following a search of his residence which revealed a substance that field tested as methamphetamine, digital scales commonly used to weigh illegal drugs, and a smoking device. Herring was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. Herring was also charged as a habitual offender and as an absconder and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond and a hold by the Arkansas Department of Correction. The Horseshoe Bend Police Department, the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force, and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department jointly conducted the search. A search warrant executed November 29 on a residence at 279 Lake View Road, Sage resulted in charges against two of the occupants. Ricky Lee Schlitz, age 50 was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, and additionally charged as a habitual offender. Schlitz remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $50,000 bond and a Department of Correction hold. Melissa D. Williams of the same address was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. Williams posted bond the day her arrest in the amount $20,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. The 16th Judicial Drug Task Force, the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, and the Arkansas Department of Correction participated in the search. Tyler Cole Hutton, age 20 of Calico Rock was arrested November 28 on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Hutton and the female victim apparently got into an argument involving pills that later became physical. Hutton posted bond December in the cash amount of $200 and given a court date. Michael Andrew Milligan, age 19 of Salem was arrested December 1 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Milligan later posted $775 cash bond, given a court date, and released.
