A Melbourne couple was arrested April 15 on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, followng reports that children were outside playing without adult supervision and only partial clad at a residence at 104 Lunen Street. Michael Abraham Harris, age 38 and Leann Evelyn Harris, age 34 were each charged with the endangerment offense. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that deputies reported that the house was in total disarray and that feces were all over the floor among other significant unsanitary conditions. The children of the couple were placed in the care of Arkansas Human Services. The Harris’ posted bond the day of their arrest in the amount of $605 and were given a court date.
Jason R. Ledbetter, age 36 of Salem appeared at the Izard County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday to report the theft of item on behalf of a friend. Ledbetter had driven to the sheriff’s office on a motorcycle. While Senior Deputy Gabe Sanders was taking the theft report, it was very evident that Ledbetter was intoxicated as the result of having slurry speech and extreme twitching. Ledbetter was arrested on the charge of public intoxication and placed in the Izard County Detention Facility. Additionally, according to Sheriff Lawrence, Ledbetter was charged with having no drivers’ license, no proof of insurance, and no vehicle license. Ledbetter posted bond the following day in the amount of $995, given a court date, and released.
David Allan Weaver, age 41 of 4385 Rose Trail, Melbourne was arrested April 16 on the charge of driving while intoxicated and a hot check warrant from Cleburne County. On the following day, Weaver posted a $1,000 bond on the driving while intoxicated charge and a $395 bond on the hot check charge, and given a court date for both and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Sarah Lisa Fountain, age 43 of 209 Jay Street, Melbourne was arrested April 16 on the charges of driving on a suspended license as the result of a previous driving while intoxicated offense, having no proof of insurance, fictitious tags, and no seat belt. Fountain appeared before District Judge David E. Miller and was released with a June 13 court date.
A Dolph man, 36 year old Kelley James McClellan, was arrested Saturday for driving on a suspended license. McClellan posted bond Sunday in the amount of $375, given a court date, and released.
Michelle Elaine Weaver, age 33 of 4385 Rose Trail was arrested April 16 on a Mountain Home hot check warrant. Weaver posted bond in the amount of $421, given a Mountain Home court date, and released.
In other activities, Matthew Owen Ivey, age 49 of Cherokee Village was arrested Friday afternoon on a failure to appear warrant stemming from earlier charges of driving while intoxicated, no proof of insurance, and fleeing in an automobile. Ivey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of cash bond in the amount of $2,500.
A Dolph man, Edwin Teegarden, age 41 of Dolph was arrested when he reported to the Izard County Detention Facility to serve a court sentence. Teegarden was charged with public intoxication-drugs. Teegarden tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamines. Teegarden remains in jail.
Dawn Christine Eheart, age 36 of 2953 Larkin Road, Violet was extradited April 15 to Howell County, Missouri following an earlier arrest for felony hot checks out of that state.
Joshua Dewaine Scholl, age 24 who was arrested April 13 at an Oxford residence was extradited Sunday to Minnesota to answer sex offense charges including failure to register change of address as a sex offender.
Trystin Robert Howell, age 24 of Horseshoe Bend was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after serving a 30 day court imposed sentence.
