MELBOURNE MAN ARRESTED ON METH CHARGES

Kirk Alan Hutchinson, age 47 of Jay Street in Melbourne was arrested June 12 on an Izard County warrant on charges of possession with intent to deliver of a controlled substance, that of methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the warrant stems from an earlier incident when Hutchinson was brought to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office and after being released it was determined that Hutchison had deposited the illegal substance in the back of a deputy’s vehicle used to transport Hutchinson.  Both charges are felonies.  Hutchinson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a $30,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on July 8th.

What began as a verbal dispute the night of June 11 between neighbors in the Wideman area led to the arrest of both individuals. During the dispute, which has been long lasting over land and trespassing, Raymond Donald Smith, age 64 is accused of threatening Jim Wayne Stapleton, age 44 with an axe and Stapleton likewise threatening to harm Smith with a gun.  Each was charged with terroristic threatening third degree, a class “a” misdemeanor. Smith and Stapleton briefly appeared before District Judge David E. Miller who issued a no contract order to both and gave them a July 11 court date.

Jack Albert Knight, age 51 of Brockwell was arrested the afternoon of June 11 on the charges of driving while intoxicated, careless and prohibited driving, and fleeing.  Izard County Chief Investigator Charles Melton, who was off-duty and working on his farm near the Brockwell area observed  a pickup truck run off the road and crash a mailbox. Melton alerted the sheriff’s dispatch of his observation and a patrol deputy approached the stopped vehicle and Knight took off and the fled the deputy. Knight was out of jail on a felony bond at the time of this arrest and his bond was revoked pending a court date of July 8th. Sheriff Tate Lawrence the DWI charge follows a conviction of two other DWI convictions during the past five years.

Late Thursday night, Dennis Reed Stowers following the report of a motor vehicle accident in the Dolph community was arrested on the charges of public intoxication, assault third degree, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, after running his vehicle into a power pole, Stowers then forced his way into a nearby residence by breaking a window out of the front door, pushed the resident’s occupant as he entered the house and then continued to push the occupant and his son.  Reports indicate that Stowers attempted to enter the kitchen of home to obtain and knife and do harm to the people there. Responding deputies said that Stowers was acting extremely unpredictable and was very irate.  Stowers, age 24 of Dolph remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Kristi Ann Lane, age40 of Violet Hill was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of driving on a suspended license, fictitious license plates and a Randolph County warrant.  Lane remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of an Izard County bond of $735 and a Randolph County bond of $3,320.

Heath Runae Roemmich, age 29 of Calico Rock was arrested June 10 after appearing in Izard County Circuit court. Roemmich was ordered to submit to a drug test and after a lengthy period of time either refused or was unable to provide a urine sample for testing. Reommich remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on the contempt of court charge.

In Izard County Circuit court on June 10, Clayton Allen Lynch, age 25 of Melbourne appeared in court and admitted to having ingested illegal drugs while out of jail on a felony bond. Lynch was found to have violated his condition of bond and was committed to the Izard County Detention Facility for a five day period.

Three individuals were charged for disorderly conduct June 9 after becoming involved in a verbal and physical altercation. Mikayla Lynn Watkins, age 19 of Rose Street, Melbourne; Jordon Lawrence, age 21 of Patriot Drive, Melbourne; and Jamons Lori Manning, age 18 of Rose Trail were all charged with the offense. The three made an initial appearance in Izard County District Court where no- contact orders were issued and a future court date was set by District Judge David E. Miller.

Kelly Lynn Alberson, age 35 and listing his address as “homeless” was arrested Friday on warrants of failure to appear and child support enforcement.  Alberson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,672 bond.

Jonnie Stevens Dunegan, age 47 of Batesville was arrested June 10 on an Izard County failure to appear warrant. Dunegan was released the day of his arrest after appearing before Judge David E. Miller and given a court date of July 11.

A Camden man, 35 year old Eric Lance Stevens, was arrested Friday on a failure to pay fines warrant t from Izard County.  Stevens remain jailed in lieu of a $430 bond.

Failing to appear in Izard County District Court resulted in the Friday arrested of Robert Earl Hall of Rosie. Twenty eight year old Hall remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $600 bond.

Johnnie Henry Swafford, age 22 and claiming to be a transient, was arrested Thursday on a failure to pay fines warrant resulting from an earlier conviction of disorderly conduct. Swafford remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

A Cave City woman, twenty eight year old Shana Michelle Berger was arrested Thursday on and Izard County failure to appear warrant and an Independence County warrant.   Berger posted a bond in the amount of $440 bond and was released.
