The theft of a water meter from the City of Horseshoe Bend has resulted in the arrest of a Franklin man. James Nathaniel Leis, age 48 was arrested on theft of property charges. Leis posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $1,125, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility. In another theft arrest, Frank A. Bruyette, age 31 of Melbourne was arrested Friday on felony theft of public benefits. This charge stems from Bruyette failing to report income earned in order to receive food stamps Food stamps obtained by Bruyette and his wife were $6,470 more than what should have been received. Bruyette posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $5,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
