ANOTHER ARRESTED FOR METH IN VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT

 According to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence, two times in as many straight weeks, a person has been arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine in the Izard County Sheriff/Izard County District Court parking lot. On October 10 for the purpose of appearing in court, Stacy Alberson, age 37 of Horseshoe Bend pulled into the parking lot. Senior Deputy Gabe Sanders ran his drug dog around several cars in the lot and his K-9 partner hit upon a white Chevrolet Lumina. It was learned that Albertson was the driver of the vehicle and that she had driven to appear in court. When searched, a cigarette package was located in the holder/console of vehicle. Inside the cigarette package was a clear plastic baggie containing a crystalline substance. A field test of the product tested positive for methamphetamine. Albertson was so charged with this class ‘D” felony. Alberson was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a $2,500 bond.

Another drug arrest was made on October 6 after Arkansas Trooper Richard Pickers stopped a vehicle and requested support from the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force. During the stop, several drug related items were found, according to Sheriff Lawrence.  Justin Scott Gude, age 27 of Sherrill Drive in Batesville was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a class “c” felony; possession of drug paraphernalia for the purpose of ingesting methamphetamine, a class “d” felony; possession of marijuana, class “a” misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia for the purpose of ingesting marijuana.  District Judge David E. Miller set bond at $15,000 which Gude posted the following day and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Darrin Ryan Bookout, age 35 of Wiseman was arrested October 9 following a compliant by a relative that Bookout had entered his residence and had stolen some property.  A video recording had captured Bookout on film. Bookout was charged with breaking and entering along with theft of property and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $15,000 bond.

Steven David Smires, age 18 of Sidney was arrested October 7 following an altercation directed toward his father. Smires was charged with assault on a family member and was released October9 from the Izard County Detention Facility 9 after appearing before District Judge David E. Miller and given a November 14 court date.

Early Saturday morning, Deputy Richard Williams arrested Rex Darmstaeder, age 32 of Melbourne after initially observing a vehicle in the opposite line of traffic in Melbourne and later observing the vehicle stopped on the roadway with the lights. Darmstaeder was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving left of center, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.  Darmstaedeter posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,130 and given a November 14 court date.

A thirty seven year old Oxford Woman, Lisa Marie Harshaw was arrested October 9 on a failure to appear warrant. Harshaw posted bond the following day and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Richard Shawn Winter, Jr., age 24 of Hardy was arrested Friday on an Izard County contempt of court charge. Winters posted a $3,050 bond the day of his arrest and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Billy Gene Ward, age 35 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested October 9 and initially placed on a criminal investigative hold.  Late arrested on Stone County warrant, Stone was released October 11 with a court date.

Brenda Ann May, age 47 of Calico Rock was arrested October11 when she told deputies she did not the whereabouts of a wanted felon. May was charged with obstructing governmental operations. The felon is yet to be captured. May posted bond the day after her arrest in the amount of $1,105 and given a court date.

Three Izard County inmates were transported to the Arkansas Department of Correction is past week.  On Monday Rodney Paul Medling, age 36of Brockwell was transported. On Wednesday Gregory Allen Stroud, age 52 of Melbourne was transported while on Thursday Patrick Russell McNealy, age 23 of Melbourne was transported.
