The arrest of a male Sunday afternoon on the charge of public intoxication resulted in later, more serious charges. Brain Lynn Latore, age 33 of Melbourne was arrested around 6:30 p.m. after Sheriff Tate Lawrence and Deputy Kevin Helm responded to a Melbourne address to answer the compliant of an intoxicated person being near the 333 Salon in Melbourne but discovered at a nearby residence. Following Latore’s initial arrest, he was charged with possession of oxycodone, a class “c” felony and possession of tapentadol, a class a ”d” felony. Latore was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a $5,000 bond. Jay Jay Massey, age 50 of Calico Rock was arrested October 14 on felony warrant from Lawrence County. Late last week, Izard County deputies and the department of correction dog team unsuccessfully attempted to arrest Masey on the Lawrence County warrant after he fled. Massey remains in the Izard County Dentation Facility on the local fleeing charge and the Lawrence County hold.
A Calico Rock man, Marty Grant Sexton was arrested October 15 on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Thirty Seven Sexton got into an argument and altercation with a family member. It is alleged that a hand gun was involved but not used during the altercation. Sexton appeared before District Judge David E. miller on Thursday, was issued a no contact order and given a court date and released from the Izard County Detention; Facility.
Dale Shayne Taylor, age 37 of Melbourne was arrested October the on the charge of criminal impersonation and a warrant for failure to pay fines. Taylor was released the following day from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a $200 cash bond.
Sharon L. Bennett, age 23 of Wiseman was arrested October 13 on hot check warrant out of Izard and Independence counties. Bennett posted bond on the Independence County warrant in the amount of $674 and was released on the Izard County warrant with a court date.
Amy Marie Smith, age 35 of Oxford was arrested Thursday on a failure to pay fines warrant. Smith was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the day of her arrest after posting a cash bond of $330.
Shirley Fern Hughes, age 27 of Calico Rock was arrested in southern Arkansas on an Izard County failure to pay fines warrant. Hughes appeared in District Court on Thursday and was released from custody.
Jerry Joseph Swindle, age 30 of Cherokee Village was arrested Sunday on a Baxter County warrant and was picked up by them the day of his arrest.
