LEVEL THREE SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED NEAR WIDEMAN

 

 

When Izard County deputies went to Wideman Friday  to arrest a level three convicted sex offender on a Lonoke County felony warrant, the run was on. Justin Baker, age 31 ran from the house and into the woods.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Baker was later captured, charged with fleeing, and taken to the Izard County Detention where he was picked up by Lonoke County authorities. Baker had six warrants from about as many jurisdictions.

Dennis Paul Lawton, age 46 of Jordan reported to the sheriff’s office on Friday  to undergo a court mandated drug test and tested positive for a drug which he did not have a prescription. Lawton will be held in the Izard County Detention facility until the November session of Izard County Circuit Court.

Ricky Shelton Dowdle, age 58 of Melbourne was arrested Friday night on probable cause related to a white crystalline substance, believe to be Methamphetamine, found on his person and a bag of a  green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana   located on the ground underneath his vehicle. Dowdle remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on an investigative hold by the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force.

Christopher Trent Brannen, age 36 of Austin, Arkansas was arrested Friday on a criminal contempt of court warrant. Brannen remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of cash bond in the amount of $3,250.

A Searcy woman, Lakisha White, age 26 was arrested Friday on a failure to pay fines warrant. White remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a “no bond” status.

Brain Lynn Latore, also known as Brian Lynn Vest, age 33 of Melbourne was arrested Friday on a criminal trespass charge. Vest was seen exiting a house in the Mill Crest addition in Melbourne.  Vest on out of on bond from a previous drug related arrest when the trespassed. Vest’s bond from the previous arrest was revoked and he remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Senior Deputy Gabe Sanders responded Monday afternoon, October 21st to a domestic disturbance call in Franklin. Donald Todd, age XX of 311 Arkansas Highway 56 was taken in to custody after his stepfather reported that Todd had hit him in the face four or five times.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the dispute likely began when Todd came home and did not like what his mother was watching on television.  Todd remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on the domestic battering charge in lieu of a $1,000 cash bond.

In another domestic disturbance, Travis John Clary, age 28 of highway 223, Pineville was arrested the night of October 24th. The charge stems from an earlier altercation with his wife. Clary appeared before District Judge David E. Miller on Sunday, given a court date and released.

Rebecca Diane Wray was arrested Sunday, October 20 on a felony contempt of court warrant. Sheriff Lawrence said she was arrested when she came to the jail to visit an inmate during the normal visitation period. Wray remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a cash bond in the amount of $1,500.

A Mountain View man, Billy Gene Middleton, age 39 was arrested October 20 on a contempt of court charge. Middleton was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after appearing before District Judge David E. Miller.

Dwayne Ashburn, age 23 of Forrest City was arrested October 18 on the charge of possessing marijuana and driving on a suspended license resulting from a previous DWI conviction. Ashburn was released the following day from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a $2,335 bond.

Shannon Lawson, age 26 of Colt, Arkansas was arrested Friday, October 18 on the charge of criminal impersonation. Lawson was released the following day after posting a $1,105 professional bond.

Jamie Nichole Loosey, age 26 of Calico Rock was arrested in Illinois on an Izard County felony warrant of possession of a defaced fireman and a probation/parole violation. Loosey was transported to the Izard County Detention Facility by Transport Deputy Y.D. Whitehurst.

A traffic stop Sunday resulted in charges for the driver and the passenger. The driver, 18 year-old Jordan Bunch of Cave City was charged with minor in possession of alcohol after a 30 pack of beer was located in the rear of the vehicle. The passenger, Garrett Batterton, age 22 of Salem was arrested for having Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone on his person. Batterton was jailed and placed or a probation/parole hold and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

A seventeen year old Calico Rock male juvenile was arrested Wednesday, October 23 after he assaulted another juvenile on October 22. The unnamed juvenile was charged with battery third degree and transported to the White River Regional Juvenile Detention Facility in Batesville.

 

Wesley Grant Bray, age 22 of Pineville was transferred October 22 from the Izard County Detention Facility, where he had been held since June 7th, to an Arkansas Department of Correction facility in Osceola.  Montgomery Alexander Rice, age 25 of Brockwell was also transferred to the Arkansas Department of Correction facility in Osceola. Rice was transferred on Friday.
