After being earlier arrested on an investigative hold, a male and female companion of Calico Rock were charged January 13 with theft of property and residential burglary. Tommy Branscum, age 31 and Samantha Cooper, age27, are accused of entering an Oxford residence on January 10.
A truck driven by Branscum and occupied by three others was later stopped in Fulton County. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the truck contained two dollies and items reported as missing from the residence. Branscum stated to officers that two of the truck’s occupants were not with him and Cooper when they were inside the residence. Items taken in the theft included a Kodak camera in a black and yellow a box, a Minolta camera, a Nikon digital a camera, an older silver camera, a Polaroid camera, a flat screen computer monitor, a pair of New Balance shoe, a baseball card collection, a saw and router, a pocket watch, two silver watches, a silver necklace with matching pearl rings, a silver sterling ring, pearl earrings, a silver sapphire ring and a collection of comic books. .
According to Sheriff Lawrence, the residential burglary charge is a class “b” felony and the theft of property charge is a class " d” felony. Branscum posted bond January 14 in the amount of $25,000 and was released with a February 14Izard County Circuit Court date. Cooper remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
