A Thursday night traffic stop in the Caney Springs area by Deputy Richard Williams resulted in the arrest of Michael William Worch, age 32 of Sage. Worch was charged with driving while intoxicated after being observed crossing the center line several times. When stopped and when exiting the vehicle, Worch almost fell. According to the arrest report, Worch’s eyes were red and watery and his speech was slurred.
Worch failed all phases of the field sobriety test. When tested at the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, Worch’s blood alcohol concentration was .184 while the legal limit is less than .08. Worch appeared before District Judge David E. Miller, was released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a court date.
Alisha Marie Nelson, age 32 of Melbourne was arrested February 20 on a harassing communications warrant. Nelson is accused of texting another female and causing her problems with her employer. Nelson was released the day of her arrest and given a court date after appearing before District Judge David E. Miller.
James Morris Brooks, age 43 of Cave City was arrested February 19 on a failure to pay fines warrant relating to an earlier conviction of driving while intoxicated. Brooks posted a $250 cash bond the day after his arrest and given a court date.
Thomas Albert Branscum, age 33 of Calico Rock was arrested February 17 on two Izard County hot check warrants and a Baxter County misdemeanor warrant. Branscum posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $983, released from custody, and given a court date.
Sunday, February 16 Deputy Carl Russell, assisted by Sgt. Gabe Sanders responded to a child custody dispute at the Gospel Truth Church in Pineville. It was determined that Carole Brewer and Jason Lee Post had entered the church in an attempt to retrieve a child from Steve Brewer and an argument and altercation took place between the Brewers. Carole Brewer, age 25 of Salem was arrested on the charge of domestic battery and Jason Lee Post, age 34 of Ash Flat was arrested on the charge of public intoxication. Post was later released the day of his arrest and given a court date. Brewer appeared before District Judge David E. Miller on February 18, was issued a not contact order and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a court date.
Christina Ann Copes, age 30 of Oxford turned herself in to authorities in response to a hot check warrant for her arrest. Copes posted a cash bond in the amount of $419, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
William Cody Tillman, age 21 of Jefferson, Arkansas was committed to the Izard County Detention Facility February18 to serve four days for violating terms of drug court.
