Shortly before two o’clock Sunday morning, Deputies Ed Sollock and Richard Williams responded to Rose Lane in Melbourne after being dispatched to a domestic violence situation. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, the female complainant stated that her boyfriend, Steven Daniel Lapeer had assaulted her while they were arguing about his infidelity. The complainant further stated that she was holding their baby in her arms. Lapeer, age 21 was arrested on the charges of domestic battering third degree and endangering the welfare of a minor. Lapeer remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before District Judge David E. Miller.
A late night traffic stop June 14 resulted in the arrest of Lance Dwayne Smith, age 21 of Melbourne. Smith was charged with driving left of center and driving on a suspended license. Smith posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $1,255, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
A Horseshoe Bend woman, Terri Lynn Heikes of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Saturday on a Baxter County warrant. Five one year old Heikes posted bond in the amount of $360, given a Baxter County court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
A disturbance around midnight June 14 near highway 5 north of Calico Rock resulted in the arrest of Zachary ?Charles Mayfield and vehicle companion Lindsey Renee Massey. Numerous drugs and pills were located in the vehicle. Mayfield, age 34 of Calico Rock was charged with fleeing and fictitious tags and is being held pending drug related charges and is on a department of correction hold. Massey, age 37 of Gravette is being held pending drug related charges to include meth and is also on a department of correction hold. Sheriff Lawrence said that both are recent parolees.
Dennis Edward Tucker, Sr., age 60 of Laredo, Texas was arrested on the charge of no support and being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $45,000 bond. Transport Deputy Y. D. Whitehurst picked up Tucker from the Texas/Mexico border town on June 13.
Timmy Dwayne Vest, age 51 of Melbourne was released June 13 from the Izard County Detention Facility after serving a one day commitment imposed by Izard County District Court.
Michael Galloway, age 27 of Norfolk was arrested June 12 after violating a no contact order issued by District Judge David E. Miller relating to a recent arrest for domestic battery. Galloway’s bond was revoked and will remain incarcerated at least until the next schedule district court date.
Leann Evelyn Harris, age 35 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested June 9 on a Baxter County warrant and transferred to Mountain Home the day of her arrest.
Tony Lynn Conway, age 44 of Violet Hill was arrested June 10 on a domestic battery warrant. Conway is accused of slamming his wife's hand with the lid of a tool box. Conway was released June 12 with a court date and a no contact order toward his wife and her family.
Clayton Allen Lynch, age 26 of Melbourne was arrested June 11 for driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit. Lynch, a convicted felon remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a probation/parole hold.
Following a hit and run vehicle accident June12, James Statler, age 26 of Calico Rock was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs second offense, driving on a suspended license as the result of a DWI, driving left of center, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Statler remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $4,245 bond.
Authur Brett Tunnicliff, age 29 of Calico Rock was arrested June 11 on a parole violation and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no bond status.
Michael Gilbreath, age 40 of Ash Flat, following his earlier arrest for assaulting his mother who required hospitalization, has been formally charged with felony domestic battery. The class “c” felony charge stems from Gilbreath knowingly causing physical injury to a family member he knew to be sixty years of age or older. Gilbreath remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a$20,000 cash bond. Sheriff Lawrence said that Gilbreath has a lengthy history of substance abuse.
