A man and woman pair was arrested November 5 after officers executed a search warrant on the property at Dolph. James Perry Knott, age 50 and Tanya Pauline Powell, age 38 of 225 Rock Hill Road were charged with multiple charges relating to the manufacturing of methamphetamine and other drug related offenses. Charges for the pair include maintaining a drug premises, a class “c” felony; possession of meth with the purpose to deliver, a class “b” felony; manufacturing of a controlled substance-meth, a class “y” felony; possession with the purpose to use meth drug paraphernalia, a class “d” felony, possession with the purpose to manufacture meth, a class “b” felony, exposing a child to a chemical substance or methamphetamine, a class “c” felony; manufacturing of methamphetamine the presence of a certain person, an unclassified crime; possession of a controlled substance-hydrocodone with the purpose to deliver, a class “c” felony; possession of a controlled substance-alprazolam with the purpose to deliver, a class “d” felony; possession of a controlled substance-oxycodone with the purpose to deliver, a class “c” felony; and theft by receiving, a class “a” misdemeanor. Powell posted a $50,000 bond and was released with a court date from the Izard County Detention Facility while Knott remains in jail in lieu of $200,000 bond and a federal court hold. These arrests and charge were the collective efforts of the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Arkansas State Police.
Noel Gene Loosey, age 53 of Calico Rock was arrested November 5 on felony charges of battery first degree, habitual offender, and a hold out of Missouri. Loosey, age 53 is also being held on misdemeanor charges of fleeing, driving with a suspended license, and failure to appear. Loosey is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility on total bond of $72,500.
Robert Michael Zehr, age 63 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested November 6 on the charge of driving while intoxicated. Zehr posted a $605 bond the following day and was released with a December 9 court date.
Ramona Lynn Taylor, age 45 of Calico Rock was arrested November 6 on the charge of public intoxication. Taylor appeared before Judge Jim Short on November 8 and was released with a court date.
Gary Lesley Chitwood, age 53 of Melbourne was arrested November 8 on the charge of driving on a suspended license. Chitwood posted a $380 bond the day of his arrest and released with a December 9 court date.
Jacob Raymond Frey, age 24 of Melbourne was arrested November 6 on the charge of public intoxication and was placed on a probation/parole hold. Frey posted bond the following day and was released with a court date.
Kevin Bradley Burton, age 35 of Franklin was arrested November 6 on an Izard County hot check warrant and a Sharp County warrant. Burton posted bond the following day in the amount $1,195 and released with a court date.
Michael Scott Padgett, age 53 of Melbourne was arrested November 6 on the charge of disorderly conduct. Padgett posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $205 and given a Horseshoe Bend court date.
Bryan Newton Farmer, age 44 of Harrison was arrested November 6 on a failure to appear warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bond.
Kathleen Dawn Lafever, age 61 of Hernando, Mississippi was arrested November 2 on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Lafever appeared before District Judge David E. Miller November 5 and was released with a no contact order and a November 20 court date.
Melanie Obrien, age 23 of Marked Tree was jailed November 4 on contempt of district court charges for appearing in court under the influence of a controlled substance. Obrien will remain incarcerated for 30 days.
Brittany Ann Burch, age 27 of Cherokee Village on a Fulton County warrant where she was later transferred.
A Horseshoe Bend man, Jimmie Eugene Beck, age 46 was arrested November 3 on charges of driving on a cancelled license and disorderly conduct. Beck posted bond the day of his arrest and given a Horseshoe Bend court date of December 9.
Melissa Jean Casey, age 34 of Horseshoe Bend was jailed November 3 on a drug court commitment and remains incarcerated for 44 days.
Three inmates of the Izard County Detention Facility who were awaiting bed space were transported November 7 to the Arkansas Department of Correction. Those transported were Montgomery Alexander Rice, age 26 of Brockwell; Justin Dean Wallace, age 33 of Alma; and Lewie Elmer Branscum, age 28 of Calico Rock.
