An arrest has been made in the break in a burglary of Miller’s Warehouse in Melbourne the night of December 21. Arrested January 4 was William Blake Ring, age 22 of Cave City. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Ring and another person yet to be arrested are accused of taking items from the items to include a small scooter and a fire place set that apparently had been thrown from the truck as the thieves sped away. The door to main entrance of the building had been forced open and a side door had been damaged when an attempt was made to force it open. A bolt cutter and hammer was located near a security gate fence and the lock on the gate appeared to have cutter marks on it but had not been opened. Ring has been charged with commercial burglary, a class ”c” felony; criminal mischief, a class “b” misdemeanor; and theft of property, a class “a” misdemeanor. Ring remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $10, 000 bond on this January 4 arrest. A warrant has been issued against a companion, Joseph Daniel Wilkerson age 23 also of Cave City. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Wilkerson is asked to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.
Following a compliant that a vacant mobile home n Horseshoe Bend had been entered and that furniture items had been removed resulted in the December 30 arrest and charges against a Horseshoe Bend man. During the investigation by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, it was determined that Logan Caudell, Jr., age 48 had been seen going in and out of the residence. According to Sheriff Lawrence, Caudell was charged with residential burglary, a class “b” felony and theft of property, a class “c” felony. Caudell posted bond New Year’s Day in the amount of $10,000 and was released with a January 26 circuit court date.
A checkpoint conducted by the Arkansas State Police and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department New Year’s Eve night near Mt. Pleasant resulted in charges against against a Sidney man and a Caulfield, Missouri man. John Andrew Battles, age 18 of Sidney was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated-drugs. In another vehicle, Tommy Lee Deluna, age 22 of Caulfield was charged with driving on a suspended license, having no insurance, possession of controlled substance and driving while intoxicated. Both appeared before District Judge David E. Miller January 3 and were released with a court date.
Brent Tyrel Sanders, age 25 of Pineville was arrested January 1 on the charge of domestic battering third degree. The charges stem from a compliant from a female live in that she and Sanders got into an argument and that she left the residence in Dolph. Later she returned and the argument again escalated. Sanders is accused of pulling her from the truck, hitting her and then choking the victim. There were visible signs on her face and her nose. Sanders was released the following day after appearing before Judge David E. Miller and was given an April 8 court date.
James Lawrence Frey, age 23 of Melbourne was arrested December 29 on the charge of criminal trespass. Frey posted bond December 31 in the amount of $605, given a January 8 court date and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Shawn Douglas Baker, age 19 of Ash Flat was arrested January 2 after scheduled narcotics were located in his vehicle. Baker is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility pending formal felony charges.
Rebecca Diane Wray, age 29 of Oxford was arrested December 31 on two felony counts of failure to appear and one count of failure to pay fines. Wray remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $10,580 bond.
Matthew Jo Carson, age 30 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested New Year’s Eve night for driving on a suspended license. Carson posted bond the following day in the amount of $355, released from the Izard County Detention Facility, and given a February 10 court date.
Josha Alan Clark, age 26 of Violet Hill was arrested January 3 on minor infraction and placed on a temporary probation hold due to other suspicions. The hold was later lifted and Clark was allowed to post a $185 bond, given a court date of January 22, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Ashley Michele Sherrill, age 27 of Calico Rock was arrested December 31 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Sherrill remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,770 cash bond.
