Jason Stanley, age 36 was arrested Thursday night in Calico Rock following a disturbance involving female clerks at the Dollar General Store. Stanley was extremely combative and aggressive toward deputies requiring him to be tazed three times during the arrest process. While ignoring commands from the deputies, Stanley ran back into the store screaming, spitting, and kicking store shelves. When placed in patrol unit for transport to jail, Stanley continued to yell, spit ,blow snot from his nose, smeared blood from his shirt to the seats of the vehicle, urinated in the car., and hit his head on the window.
Upon arrival at the jail, Stanley refused to get out of the vehicle and once in the booking area he was again tazed. When placed into a cell, Stanley hit his head numerous times against the cell door causing a laceration. Stanley was transported to White River Medical Center in Batesville by ambulance and later returned to the Izard County Detention Facility where he was formally charged with battery third degree, , obstruction of governmental operations, fleeing, and refusal to submit to arrest assault criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Stanley’s home address is unknown but is thought to be in the Optimus area of Stone County. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the incident is still under investigation with possible sexual related charges pending. Stanley posted bond Friday in the amount of $5,345 cash and given an April 23 court date.
