Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that on Saturday, April 25th the Izard County Sheriff’s Department will participate in the tenth state wide Prescription Drug Take Back Event. The sheriff’s office in Melbourne and the substation in Horseshoe Bend each have a drop off boxes. The drop off box at the Melbourne office in near the entranceway and the drop off box at Horseshoe Bend is in the foyer of the sheriff’s substation.
Drop-offs can be made with no questions asked. Medications may be turned- in in any container or removed from the original pill bottle for increased privacy. Unwanted prescriptions, over the counter med, and vitamins and nutritional supplements will be accepted.
Pills collected in take backs will never be abused, be accidentally ingested, be used in a crime, cause an overdose, cause a traffic accident, or pollute Arkansas waterways.
