A Tuesday report from a lady that said she had loaned her vehicle to man who said he needed transportation to a local medical clinic and that he had been gone more than three hours  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that he located the vehicle at D & L Discount in Melbourne.  When the man identified as Zacky Kautz, who was known not to have a driver’s license, exited the store he was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license. A search incidental to the arrest produced many trinket items on his person that he said he had purchased at various stores in Melbourne. Suspecting that the items were from D & L Discount, Investigator Charles Melton presented the items to the store owner who identified the items as coming from her store. A female companion, identified as Melody   Hunter ran to the restroom and after a lengthy period exited the restroom where several more items from the store were located. The owner said the pair had not paid for a single item from her store. Upon arrival at the jail, Hunter, age 22 of 89 Moser Street, Melbourne when dressed down and additional stolen items along with some marijuana were found in her bra. A search of the vehicle revealed a twelve pack of cold beer. It was determined that Kautz had not gone to the doctor but had instead gone to the beer store with Hunter who he picked up.  The owners of D & L Discount filed a formal complaint and requested the pair be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Kautz, age 24, of 165 E. Main Street Melbourne of was charged with shoplifting and operating a vehicle without a valid license. Hunter was charged with shoplifting and providing a prohibitive item in a jail. Both were held until court on June 18, 2015.
