LEWIE BRANSCUM TIMOTHY STETKA
Lewie Elmer Branscum who was recently released from prison , immediately went on a crime spree involving the theft of at least three vehicles, one from family, one from Mtn. View, and one from Calico Rock. Branscum, age 29 of Calico Rock was arrested June 27 in Heber Springs while driving the last vehicle he is accused of stealing. Branscum is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility on theft of property charges, theft by receiving, and as a habitual offender in lieu of $20,000 bond, according to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence. And is on a hold from the Arkansas Department of Correction without bond.
Timothy Lee Stetka, age 24 of Calico Rock was arrested July 3 on the charge of domestic battery third degree. The charge stems from a call accusing Stetka of assaulting his wife. According to the report the couple had been arguing for some time during the night because of Stetka being upset over an unknown earlier event and that he had consumed a significant amount of alcohol. “Stetka allegedly forced the victim to the ground and positioned himself over her with his hands grasping her forcibly about the throat area. Stetka is also accused of throwing a large stone into the windshield of the vehicle belonging to a family member of the victim. Stetka remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before a judge.
Following an episode with family members, Steven David Smires, age 19 of Sidney was arrested June 28 on the charge of domestic battery. Smires was transported July 2 to mental facility in Little Rock.
Kevin Munrow Hutson, age 34 of Batesville was arrested June 27 of possession of a controlled substance and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,250 bond. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that additional charges against Hutson are likely.
Amanda Marie Thomas, age 30 of Jacksonville was arrested July 1 on a petition of revoke parole/probation relating to theft of property, theft of prescription medications and prescription fraud. Thomas remains in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond.
Kimberly Lynn Ketchum, age 22 of Sage was charged June 30 on theft of property charges – six counts. Ketchum was released the day of her arrest after posting a $1,000 bond and given a July 23 court date.
Clint William Young, age 38 of Norfolk was arrested June 28charges of obstructing governmental operations and driving on a suspended license. Young was released from the Izard County Detention Facility on June29 after posting a $1,056 bond and given an August 6 court date
A Horseshoe Bend woman, Ericka Lynne Stephens, age 25 was arrested July 1 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, and driving on a revoked license as the result of a driving while intoxicated charge. Stephens remains in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond pending an appearance before a judge.
William Joseph Carter, age 22 of Melbourne was arrested July 1 on an Independence County warrant and was transferred to Batesville on answer charges as was Christy Lea Vincent, age 40 of Mountain Home.
Andrew Jacob Schwarz, age 27 of Salem was arrested June 29 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Schwarz was released from the Izard Detention Facility after posting a cash bond in the amount of $2,015 and given a July 23 court date.
William Joseph Carter, age 22 of Melbourne was arrested July 1 on an Independence County warrant and was transferred the day of his arrest to Batesville to answer to the charges.
Tim Ballentine, age 38 of Fifty Six was arrested June 30 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Ballentine posted bond the following day in the amount of $510 cash, was released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a July 23 court date.
Kimberly Ann Martin, age 48 of Gepp was arrested June 28 on a Fulton County warrant and was later transferred to Salem to answer charges.
Tucker Ross Collins, age 18 of Hardy was arrested July 2 on a Sharp County investigative hold and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Leonard Ellis Sparks, Jr., age 20 of Salem was arrested June 30 on charges of a fictitious auto plates, driving left of center, and having no driver’s license. Sparks appeared before Judge Jim Short the day of his arrest and was released with a July 21 Horseshoe Bend court date.
