FELONY ARRESTS IN IZARD COUNTY

A Horseshoe Bend man was arrested September 26 and charged with residential burglary and sexual assault in the second degree. Timothy Scott Cannon, age 23  is accused of entering the Horseshoe Bend  home of the female victim on September 26 as she was sleeping and awoke to a man rubbing and touching her in a sexual manner. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, when the victim awoke, Cannon allegedly told her that he was looking for sex. The victim grabbed Cannon in his private parts, squeezed and pushed him to the front door. Canon remains in the Izard County Detention on a $20,000 bond set by District Judge David E. Miller.

In an unrelated matter, Bradley McNealy, age 43 of Guion was arrested September 27 on charges of breaking or entering and theft of property. Bradley is alleged to have taken property from an unoccupied older house in Mt. Pleasant.  Sheriff Lawrence said that it appeared the house had been ransacked and several items to include an abundance of ammunition, knives, and possibly other items. McNealy and a female accomplice had back up a truck to the front porch. When arrested McNealy had marijuana in his possession. The breaking or entering charge is a class “d” felony while the theft of property and marijuana charges are class “d” misdemeanors. McNealy remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bond.

Chance Lee McCurley, who was earlier arrested and incarcerated on charges of aggravated assault on a family member, terroristic threatening, and endangering the welfare of a minor was additionally charged this week with violating a no contact order with the alleged victims. McCurley violated the no contact order making phone calls to victims’ family. McCurley remains in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond and faces appearances in Izard County Circuit Court and Izard County District Court.

 

A traffic stop in Pineville by Deputy Jason Jordan and assisted by Corporal Richard Williams and Trooper Rodney Villiger resulted in the arrest of the driver and one of the two passengers. Driver Jessie Charles Carroll, age 50 of Calico Rock was charged with possessing a controlled substance after a bag of a green leafy substance believe to be marijuana was found on his person. Passenger James Wilson Owen II, age 27 also of Calico Rock was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon without a conceal carry permit. The weapons was a Glock 40 caliber and was loaded. Owens was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a $1,120 bond and issued an October 22 court date. Carroll, who also has an October 22 court date remains in jail in lieu of a $1,250 bond.

 

Walter Ball, age 49 of J Bar J, Violet Hill was arrested around midnight October 29 after the vehicle his vehicle was located parked in the middle of Larkin-Lacrosse Cutoff with the engine running and Ball in an unconscious state. Ball was charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, refusal to submit to a chemical test, disorderly conduct, and driving on a suspended license. During the arrest, Corporal Richard Williams was able to gain Ball’s compliance after Ball was tased. Ball was released the following day from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a $1,405 and given a November 11 court date.

 

David Wayne Bryan, age 31 of Salem was arrested the night of September 29on the charge of driving on a revoked license as the result of a DWI and having no liability insurance. Bryant appeared before District Judge David E. Miller the following day and was released from the Izard County Detention; Facility with October3 Horseshoe Bend Court date.

In another driving on a suspended license arrest, Joshua Nathaniel Moorehead was jailed September 30 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility later that day. Moorehead posted a $365 bond and was given an October 22 court date.

 

Bobbi Renee Stapleton, age 35 of Pineville was arrested September 29 on a Faulkner County warrant and posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,205 and released from the Izard County Detention Facility
