JUVENILE CHARGED AS ADULT

A Billings, Montana juvenile who was the subject of a high speed pursuit on October 2 that resulted in an accident that destroyed or damaged several vehicles at a Melbourne car dealership has been formally charged.  The seventeen year old was driving a Ford Escape that was reported stolen from Montana has been charged as an adult to three class “d” felonies to include fleeing in a vehicle, criminal mischief second degree, and theft by receiving. and also faces additional charges in district court and juvenile court. He remains in the White River Juvenile Detention Center in Batesville. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that it is his understanding that the juvenile is facing similar charges in another state due to a like incident.

For a second time in about as many weeks, Chance Lee McCurley who has been incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Facility since September 15 on charges of aggravated assault on a family member endangering the welfare of a minor and other charges, has been charged with violating a no contact order. McCurley of Dolph is in jail without bond.

A Calico Rock pair who was earlier charged in Izard County Circuit with drug related offenses was arrested October 5 on cruelty to animals charges. Albert Bartlett, age 56 and Christy Whittaker, age 46 are accused of moving away from their residence leaving two dogs without food and water. Deputy Jaden Whitfield provided the dog’s food and water until ICARE could take possession of the dogs. Bartlett and Whittaker were released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a court date.

Penny Lee Price, age 37 of Mountain View gave her address as homeless was arrested October 2 on a felony to appear warrant. Price remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a $10,000 cash bond and a criminal hold from Stone County.

Steven Laurence Carroll, age 33 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested October 7 on a failure to pay fines warrant relating to an earlier guilty findings for assault. Carroll appeared in Izard County District Court the following day and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Another Horseshoe Bend resident, twenty eight year old Candi Michelle Willis was arrested September 2 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle without license plates, and no insurance. Willis posted bond October 6 in the amount of $850 and was released to Sharp County who had a criminal hold on her. Willis appeared in Horseshoe Bend Court October 6.

Jessie Leon Davis, age 41 of Batesville was arrested October 7 on a failure to appear warrant on a failure to pay fines warrant relating to a guilty finding in Izard County District. Davis was released the following day after appearing in Izard County District Court and was issued another court date of October 22.

Shannon Kane Bellers, age 39 of Sidney was arrested October 8 on two failure to appear warrants; one out of Izard County Circuit Court and one out of Izard County District Court. Bellers is being held in lieu of $11,920 cash bond with scheduled court dates of October 22 and November 11.

Billy Gene Ward, age 37 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested October 7 on the charge of driving on a suspended license. Ward was released the following day after posting a $250 cash bond and given a court date of November 3 in Horseshoe Bend.

Horseshoe Bend resident William Anthony Kitts , age 29 was arrested October 8 on the charge of fleeing and a Stone County warrant. Kitts is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond.

Megan Stanton, age 22 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested October 7 on the charge of hindering apprehension and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $650 bond with a scheduled court date in Horseshoe Bend on November 13.

Amanda Marie Thomas, age 30 of Dolph was arrested October 6 after failing to appear in drug court. Thomas remains in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond until October 19 drug court date.

Jeremy Niederbrach, age 37 of Salem was committed to the Izard County Detention Facility on October 5 to serve a 14 day commitment for violating conditions of drug court.

Joseph Phillip Cunningham, age 53 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested October 7 on a non-support warrant and is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $41,164 cash bond.

Randall A. Johnson, age 38 of Violet Hill was arrested October 3 for driving on a suspended license. Johnson posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $365 cash and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Johnson had a scheduled court date of November 12.

Mark Duncan, age 41 of Melbourne was arrested October 5 on the charge of public intoxication. Duncan posted bond the following day in the amount of $220 cash and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a November 12 court date.

Dianna Rose Nehring, age 34 of Williford was arrested October 3 of a violation of Arkansas hot cheek law warrant. Nehring was released the following day with a November 3 court date in Horseshoe Bend.

Nathan Patrick Duke, age 22 of Batesville was arrested October 9 on the charge of forgery. Duke is accused of forging a check in the amount of $275 on his grandfather’s account. Duke remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $5,000 bond and has a circuit court date of November 2.

Upon being called to a Zion residence in reference to a disturbance between and male and female, Deputies arrested Lorrie Northern, age 50 was intoxicated and her conduct warranted a disorderly conduct charge. Northern remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $220 bond.

During the course of conducting a highway safety check point Friday night, Rachel Elizabeth Thompson, age 28 of Mountain View was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor – two counts, disorderly conduct, drinking in public, public intoxication, and knowingly giving alcohol to a minor. Thompson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,320 and a hold from Sharp County.

Effie Marie Woodard, age 37 of Evening Shade was arrested Friday on a Sharp County warrant and was later transported by Sharp County authorities.
