TWO ARRESTED ON FELONY FAILURE TO APPEAR WARRANTS

Michael Boss, age 37 of Cave City was arrested Christmas Eve on a failure to appear warrant stemming from an original charge of sexual assault second degree. Boss remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a $10,000 cash bond. Boss is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on January 25.

William J. Carter, age 23 of Melbourne was arrested December 22 on a felony failure to appear warrant and is being held in the Izard County DetentionFacility in lieu of $10,000 cash bond. Carter is scheduled to appear in circuit court on January 25.

A domestic situation involving a Calico Rock couple on Sunday resulted in the arrest of both the male and the female. Timothy Stetka, age 25 and Emerald Stetka, age 20 were both charge with domestic battery third degree.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the altercation between the two involved a baseball bat. After appearing before Judge David E. Miller, the female was released with a court date of February 4 while Timothy Stetka remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bond.

A call to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday morning stating that a male using the phone at a Melbourne nursing home was calling and harassing his wife. Upon arrival by Deputies, Brian Miller, age 39 of Batesville ran out a back door of building. After foot chase, Miller was placed into custody and transported to the Izard County Detention Facility on the charge of fleeing and possession of an instrument of crime.  Sheriff Lawrence said that Saturday night it was reported that Miller had been harassing his wife over the phone. Miller remains jailed pending other charges.

Sanders Lee Wyatt, age 37 of Melbourne was arrested Saturday night at a sobriety check point conducted jointly by the Arkansas State Police and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department. Wyatt was charged with driving while intoxicated-second offense and driving on a suspended license resulting from a previous DWI. Wyatt was released from the Izard County Detention Facility on Sunday morning and was given court date of January 21.

A Wideman man, twenty six year old Jerry Walsh of Wideman was arrested at a Saturday night sobriety check point. Walsh was charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, endangering the welfare of a minor, and no liability insurance. Walsh remains in the Izard County DetentionFacility in lieu of $1,000 cash bond. A court date of January 21 was set for Walsh.

Alicia Peevey, age 28 of Oxford was arrested Saturday night on a failure to pay fines warrant resulting from a previous disorderly conduct charge. Peevey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $465 cash bond with a court date of January 4.

Shortly before noon December 26, deputies were dispatched to Harris Road in Pineville in response to a reported domestic situation. It was reported that Randy HIles of that address had hit a female companion in the face and had left the scene with his ten year old son. Hiles, age 38 of Melbourne returned to the residence and was taken into custody on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Upon being booked into the Izard County Detention Facility, Hiles tested positive for methamphetamine. Hiles remains in jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bond and has court date of January 21

Steven Hood, age 40 of Pineville was arrested December 27 on failure to pay fines warrant on original charges of driving while intoxicated and domestic battery. Hood appeared before District Judge David E. Miller, was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a January 21 court date.

Lucas Johnson, age 44 of Melbourne turned himself in to the Izard County DetentionFacility on December 26 to serve a ten day sentence imposed by District Judge David E. Miller. When being booked into the facility, Johnson tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine.

Betty Jean Harp, age 51 of Conway was arrested December 22 on a failure to appear warrant relating to an earlier charge of assault third degree. Harp posted bond in the amount of $340 cash and released on Christmas Eve from the Izard County Detention Facility with a January 7 court date.

 Danny Calaway, age 52 of Sage was arrested on the charge of domestic battery third degree. The charge stems from Calaway following his wife out of their residence and hitting her. At the time of his arrest, Calaway’s speech was slurred and he smelled heavily of alcohol. In recent months, Calaway has been arrested at least three previous times with alcohol as a factor. In June he was arrested for domestic battering, in September he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, and earlier this month he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.  Calaway is in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,500 cash bond. Calaway is scheduled to appear in district court on January 21.

Deputies responded Sunday to highway 177 near the Baxter County line to what was initially reported as a woman being hit with a metal object and that she was walking down the road in an attempt to get away from the aggressor. Instead, Victoria Nodine, age 21 of Mountain Home was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of governmental operations. Once at the jail, Nodine’s conduct resulted in further charges to include disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental operations. Nodine remains in the Izard County Detention Facility with additional charges pending.

Billy Dwayne Jett, age 36 of Cherokee Village was arrested December 22 on charges of driving on a suspended license and driving left of center. Jett posted a $535 bond the day of his arrest and issued a February 2 Horseshoe Bend court date.

Luke Keith Teague, age 61 of Pineville was arrested December 22 on the charge of failure to pay fines. Teague was released the day of his arrest after posting a $1,520 cash bond and given a Circuit Court date of January 21.

Zachariah Mathew Sanders, age 26 of Midway was arrested December 21 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Later that day Matthew posted a $1.010 cash bond, released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a January 7 court date.

Erica Lee Hellums, age 44 of Melbourne was arrested December 21 on a failure to appear warrant. Hellums appeared before District Judge David E. Miller the day of her arrest, was released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a January 7 court date.

James Lawrence Frey, age 24 of Melbourne was transferred December 23 from the Izard County Detention Facility to a rehabilitation facility.

Penny Lee Price, age 37 who states she is homeless and was awaiting bed space was transported December 23 to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
