Less than six months since being sentenced for domestic battery second degree against a 78 year old female, Kenneth Charles Everett was charged Tuesday with domestic battery second degree involving the same 78 year old female, who is supposedly his girlfriend. Both times the incident was similar.
Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Everett, age 52 of Horseshoe Bend is allegedto have been verbally abusive to the victim on January 31 and that after she had fallen from her chair onto the floor that Everett told her get up because there was nothing wrong with her. Everett then slammed the victim’s head against the floor. A family member arrived sometime thereafter and then victim was transported to another relative’s home in Bono. The victim was later transported to St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro and adult protective services were contacted along with the Izard County Sheriff’s Department who requested the Arkansas State Police interview the victim. Witnesses said that she had bruises on her side, knots on the back of her head and possible broken ribs. After spending a few day in the hospital, the victim was released only to be admitted again after a couple of days.
Everett, who is currently on probation for the previous charge was charged Tuesday with this class “c” felony and remains in the Izard County DetentionFacility in lieu $10,000. As the result of being on probation from the August 2015 sentence, a probation hold has been placed on Everett as well.
