SECOND CALL RESULTS IN ARREST

Shay Lynn Black McCurley, age 45 of Avinger Texas and formerly of Izard County was arrested Saturday on Texas felony theft warrants.  A $40,000 bond was posted the following day and a court date to be issued by Texas authorities. Deputy Mike Foster was the arresting officer.

A male/female pair were arrested May 11 for theft of property at a Melbourne storage unit. The owner of unit observed a suspicious couple at the unit, called the Izard County Sheriff’s Department who affected the arrest. Michael George Scudder, age 41 of Mountain Home and Devin Frances Newton, age 37 of Franklin were each charged with breaking or entering and possession of a firearm by a certain person, both felonies, and theft of property, a class A misdemeanor. Both remain in the Izard County Detention Facility on a probation/parole hold.  Deputy Jayden Whitfield was the arresting officer.

Maria Ann Clouse, age 45 of Melbourne was arrested Friday on an Independence Co. warrant and was transported to Batesville to answer the charges. Lieutenant Charles Melton was the arresting officer.

Hunter Vance Townsley, age 18 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Saturday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Townsely was released the following day from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting a bond of $3,620 and given a June 16 court date. Deputy Mike Foster was the arresting officer.

Jamie Tai Wood, age 28 of Calico Rock was arrested Sunday on a public intoxication charge. Wood appeared before District Judge David E. Miller later the day of her arrest and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a June 16 court date. Deputy Mike Foster was the arresting officer.

Joseph Lynn Lyons, age 31, address not given, was arrested May 12 on criminal contempt of court charges- two counts and was released after appearing before Judge David E. Miller and given a May 16 circuit court date. Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley was the arresting officer.

Criminal trespass charge was brought against Lordust Canvas Goodman and was jailed on Saturday. Goodman posted bond later the day of his arrest in the amount of $220, released from the Izard County DetentionFacility and given a May 19 court date.

Dallas Lee Johnson, age 26 of Melbourne was arrested Sunday on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson remains in the Izard County DetentionFacility in lieu of $1,120 bond with a court date of Junes 16. Deputy D.J. Tiernan was the arresting officer.

Stephen Eugene Townsend, age 26 of Oxford was arrested May 11 on the charge of criminal trespass. Townsend remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending additional charges. Deputy D.J. Tiernan was the arresting officer.

Cory Daniel Bennett, age 23 of Melbourne was arresting Sunday on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and remains in the Izard County Detetnion Facility in  lieu of $1,120 bond with a June 16 court date. Deputy D.J Tiernan was the arresting officer.

                                                                                                                           

Nicholas Anthony Tomei, age 36 of Mountain Home was arrested early Monday morning on charge of driving while intoxicated-drugs and possession of an instrument of crime. Tonei remains in the Izard County DetentionFacility on an investigative hold pending additional charges. Deputy Mike Foster was the arresting officer.

Ronald Austin Murphree, age 33 of Dolph was arrested Saturday on multiple charges to include operating an ATV on a public highway, driving while intoxicated-third offense, driving on a suspended license, disorderly conduct, refusal to submit to a chemical test, driving a vehicle without registration, careless driving, having no insurance, and harassment. Murphree remains in the IzardCounty DetentionFacility in liue of $5,340 bond with a court date of June 23. Trooper Rodney Villiger was the arresting officer.

Donavan Connell Franklin, age 18 of Melbourne was arrested May 12 on a Texas child neglect warrant and remains in the Izard County DetentionFacilityawaiting extradition to Texas.

Shannon Kane Bellers, age 39 of Piggott was arrested May 12 on the charge of possessing drug paraphernalia and is being held without bond with a court date of June 23. Deputy Cody Cruse was the arresting officer.

Zachary Kyle Cooper, age 27 of Batesville was arrested Sunday on the charge of public intoxication and Stone County warrant. Cooper remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $220 bond and a Stone County hold. Deputy Mike Foster was the arresting officer.

David Wayne Bryant, Jr., age 32 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested May 11 for driving on a suspended license as the result of a DWI. Bryant posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $365 and  was released from the Izard County DetentionFacility with a June 14 Horseshoe Bend court date. Deputy R. C. Lenex was the arresting officer.

Maria Ann Clouse, age 45 of Melbourne was arrested May 13 on an Independence County warrant and was transported the day of her arrest. Deputy Matt Chruchwell was the arresting officer.

Amy Marie Smith, age 37 of Oxford was arrested May 11 on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held in the Izard County DetentionFacility without bond and has a court date of June 16.

 Deputies Steve Davidson responded Sunday night to Dry Hollow Road where a woman was reported to be intoxicated and “out of control”. Annie Jane Morris, age 47 of Melbourne appeared to be intoxicated and could be heard banging on an interior door of the residence. The compliant, Joseph Waverly, said that Morris had been staying with him for about 2 weeks and the night’s argument started when Morris accused Waverly of making advances toward his son’s girlfriend. After some discussion with Waverly it was decided that Morris could spend the night there if she would just calm down. Deputies left the residence but was soon dispatched back to the residence after additional problems surfaced. Morris was charged with disorderly conduct. Morris was released the following day from the Izard County Facility after posting a $220 cash and given a June 16 curt date.

Amanda Kay Adams, age 31 of Ash Flat was accused of entering a Franklin residence on Apirl 30 and pushed the female complainant and her small  son to the floor . The complainant received a broken finger from the altercation and the small child had a couple of bruises on his forehead. Adams was arrested May 9 and charged with battery third degree. Adams posted bond day 12 in the amount of $200 cash, issued a May 19 court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility Deputy Steve Davidson transported Adams from Sharp County where she was initially arrested.

Polly Marie Nievaard, age 51 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested May 9 on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions and disorderly conduct.Nievaard was released the following day from the Izard County DetentionFacility after posting $1,555 bond and issued a Horseshoe Bend court date of June 14. Deputy Mike Smith was the arresting officer.

Michael Hanson, age 31 of Batesville was arrested May 8 on a petition to revoke probation. Hanson was released from the Izard County Detention and given an Izard County Circuit Court date of May 6.

Freddy Leroy Reynolds, age 58 of Melbourne was arrested May 8 on a petition to revoke probation and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond until his  court date of May 16. Deputy Jayden Whitfield was the arresting officer[bv1] .
