VISITOR AT PRISON ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

Izard County deputies and their K-9’s , while assisting staff of the North Central Prison Unit in Calico on June 25 during their normal visitation program, discovered illegal drugs in a visitor’s vehicle.  These discoveries had led to several felony drug charges against a Mountain Home woman. Brenda Lee Files, age 48 with two class D felonies, one class B felony, and one misdemeanor. These charges include possession of methamphetamine, possession with the purpose to use drug paraphernalia with the purpose to ingest meth, possession with the purpose to use drug paraphernalia to prepare/pack methamphetamine. Files remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $15,000 bond and according to Sheriff Tate Lawrence has an Izard County Circuit Court date of July 11. Sgt. Gabe Sanders and Deputy Jaden Whitfield were the K-9 handlers.

Victor Wilbur Vassey, III, age 49 of Oxford was arrested June 27 by warrant on charges of harassment and disorderly conduct. Vassey posted a $500 cash bond the day of his arrest, issued a no contact order, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Vassey has a court date of July 21. Deputy D.J. Tiernan was the arresting officer.

Clifton Frank Davis, age 50 who had been on the run for several months from failure to appear warrants was located in Michigan and returned to the Izard County Detention Facility on June 29. Davis is being held on a $10,000 cash felony failure to appear bond and a $1,250 misdemeanor cash bond with court dates of July 7 and July 11. First Arkansas Bail Bond agents transported Davis back to Izard County.

Donald Harrison McQueen, age 38 who gave an address as Salem, Illinois was arrested Thursday behind a church building in Oxford on a bicycle. McQueen had warrants out of Izard, Fulton, and Independence counties. McQueen is being held on the Izard County failure to appear warrant in lieu of $745 cash bond with a court date of July 7 and is also being held in lieu of $2,500 bond on the Fulton County warrant and $865 on the Independence County warrant. Deputy Even Jones was the arresting officer.

Steven Bennett Meek, age 58 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested June 29 on charges of public intoxication and carrying a prohibited weapon. Meek appeared before Judge Short the following day, was released and given an August 2 Horseshoe Bend court date. Deputy R. C. Lenex was the arresting officer.

Jessie Lee Bremm, age 27 of Calico Rock was arrested June 30 on a Stone County warrant and is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond.

Patricia Leann Lovell, age 25 of Norfolk was arrested June 30 on a contempt of court warrant and is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,395 cash bond. Lovell’s circuit court date is July 11.  Deputy Steve Davidson picked up Lovell from the Baxter County jail.

Jimmy Allen Woodard, age 43 of Jonesboro was arrested June 28 on a failure to pay fines warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $645 cash bond. Woodard has a July 5 Horseshoe Bend court date. Deputy Mike Smith was the arresting officer.

Richard Kyle Cohn, age 28 of horseshoe Bend and Ericka Lynne Stephens, age 26 also of Horseshoe Bend were arrested June 28 by probation and parole and is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility without bond.

Justin Allen Janson, age 31 who had been held in the Izard County Detention Facility since June 6 was transported to the Arkansas Department of Correction on July 1 as bed space had become available.
