A Melbourne man was arrested Thursday in connection with a vehicle theft and theft of other property. David Hardin, age 50 of Melbourne is accused to taking a pickup truck belonging to Gene Carr also of Melbourne. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, Carr had given Hardin a place to stay after he had been kicked out of his apartment, then Carr left for Texas and when he returned four days later the truck and some small tools were missing from his shed. Sheriff Lawrence said none of the stolen items, including the truck have been located. Hardin told investigators that he had driven the truck to Little Rock where it was again stolen. Hardin has been charged with one class C felony and one class A misdemeanor. Hardin remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $5,000 bond with a circuit court date of July 11. Lieutenant Charles Melton and Sgt. Gabe Sanders were the investigating officers.
Roger Lankford, age 62 of Melbourne was arrested Thursday on a charge of harassment, a class A misdemeanor. Lankford is accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend and making abusive and vulgar remarks to her by way of phone. Lankford was released the day of his arrest after being issued a no contact order. Lankford has a court date of July 21. Deputy Mark Simino was the arresting officer.
Following a vehicle accident on July 4, Jason Dean Cossey, age 39 of Zion was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, resisting arrest, impairing the operation of a vital public facility, and refusing to give information or render aid. Cossey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,440 bond with an August 7 court date. Deputy Evan Jones was the arresting officer.
William Norman Long, age 57 f Franklin was arrested Thursday on charges to include leaving the scene of an accident and endangering the welfare of a minor-three accounts. Long posted bond the following day in the amount of $2,105 and released from the Izard County Detention Facility with an August 2 court date. Deputy R. C. Lenex was the arresting officer.
Regina Tullis, age 40 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Thursday on a Baxter County hot check warrant. Tullis posted bond in the amount of $340 and given a court date of August 4. Deputy R.C. Lenex was the arresting officer.
Jesse Cap, age 31 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested July 5 on charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and terroristic threatening. The charges stem from allegations that Cap shot an arrow into his neighbor’s house and while officers were investigating, Cap made threats toward them. Cap appeared in court on July 7. Released with a no contract order and is scheduled to answer the charges on August 21 in Horseshoe Bend court. Deputy R.C. Lenex was the arresting officer.
Deborah Renae McCollum, age 38 of Viola was arrested July 3 on a failure to appear warrant. McCollum remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $600 cash bond and a court date of July 21.
Kimberly Michelle Vernon, age 51 of Sage was arrested July 2 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Vernon was released the following day and appeared in court on July 7. Deputy Toby Smith was the arresting officer.
Hersel Allen Rippee, age 60 of Melbourne was arrested July 2 on a failure to pay fines warrant and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after appearing in court on July 7. Deputy Toby Smith was the arresting officer.
April Michelle Johnson, age 26 of Hardy was arrested July 1 for driving on a suspended license. Johnson bond the following day in the amount of $365, released from the Izard County Detention Facility with an August 8 Horseshoe Bend court date.
Blake Alan Dixon, age 25 of Melbourne was arrested July 1 on a failure to appear warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility with an August 2 Horseshoe Bend court date. Deputy Toby Smith was the arresting officer.
A mother and daughter were charged July 1 in connection with a shoplifting event at a Melbourne business. Kimberly Fannon, age 23 of Sage is accused of taking a bracelet from the store without paying for it. Her mother, 48 year old Beverly Ann Barnes, of Melbourne is accused of hindering the apprehension of her daughter. Fannon remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of an $800 cash bond and has a scheduled court date of July 21. . Barnes posted bond the day of her arrest in the amount of $620 cash, released, and issued anAugust 4 court date.
Deanna Marie Zahn, age 44 of Batesville was arrested July 1 on disorderly conduct charges and was transferred to a medical facility in Little Rock on July 4.
Thomas D. Branscum, age 33 of Pineville who had been an Izard County inmate since April 26 was transported July 5 to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
