A call October 4 to Izard County Dispatch that a man was running in and out of traffic and slapping at cars as the cars on highway 223 resulted in the arrest of George Anthony Geddie on a felony bench warrant for failure to appear in court. The 40 year old from Conroe, Texas was transported to the Izard County Detention Facility. During the search incidental to being booked, it was determined that Geddie had in his Possession a bag containing a white crystalline substance which was field tested and found to be methamphetamine. Geddie was charged with possession of meth, a class “d” felony; and furnishing prohibited articles into a detention facility. Geddie remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $560 cash on the failure to appear warrant and $10,000 cash on the possession charges. Deputy D. J. Tiernan was the arresting officer and assisting with charges is the 16 Judicial District Drug Task Force. Geddie has a circuit court date of October 11 and a district court date of November 20.
In another meth related matter, the boyfriend of a probationer, Joseph Cunningham, age 54 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Friday during a visit by probation and parole officers and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department. Found in the house and claimed by Cunningham were several drug related items to include several razor blades in a prescription pill bottler, several syringes and glass smoking pipes, and a small plastic baggie containing a white crystalline substance believed to be meth. The girlfriend probationer, Sarah Wray age 44 also of Horseshoe Bend, admitted to using drugs which is in violation of her probation. Both are being held in the Izard County Detention Facility pending formal charges.
Laura Danielle Trant, age 45 of McKinney , Texas was arrested around mid-night October 3 and was charged with driving while intoxicated, carless and prohibited driving, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and having no liability insurance. Trant posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,235 cash and was given a November 3 court date.
Joshua Cagle, age 31 of Norfork was arrested October 3 for driving on a suspended license warrant and a Baxter County warrant. Cagle posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $365 cash on the Izard County charge and $500 cash on the Baxter County warrant. Deputy Mike Foster was the arresting officer. Cagle has a district court date of November 3.
James L. Brown, age 30 of Mountain View was arrested Friday on a failure to appear warrant. Brown was released Sunday after appearing before District Judge David E. Miller and given an October 20 court date. Deputy Geoffrey Watts was the arresting officer.
George Williams Brown, age 57 of Mountain View was arrested Friday on a warrant for failure to pay fines. Brown appeared before Judge David E. Miller on Sunday and was released with a court date of October 20. Deputy Geoffrey Watts was the arresting officer.
Christopher John Frey, Jr., age 23 of Flippin was arrested October 6 for failure to pay fines. Frey was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after appearing before Judged Miller on Sunday. Cpl. Richard Williams was the arresting officer. Frey has a court date of November 3.
Timothy Russell Greer, age 44 of Melbourne was arrested October 3 on charge of criminal contempt. Greer was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the following day after posting a $765 cash bond. November 11 is Greer’s scheduled court date.
Deric Anthony Rushin, age 39 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested October 3 on the charge of disorderly conduct. Rushin appeared in Horseshoe Bend court the following day when he was sentenced to a $220 fine. Deputy Toby Smith was the arresting officer.
Ruby Goocher, age 35 of Ash Flat was jailed October 3 for a drug court infraction and is being held without bond until her court date of October 10.
Hugh James Stiles, age 42 of Guion was arrested October 4 on a failure to appear warrant. Stiles appeared in court October 6 when he was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Shelby Lynne Johnson, age 25 of Horseshoe Bend who was awaiting bed space in prison since September 20 was transported Friday to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
