Cold weather is on the way and there are many people including children in our communities who don’t have a good coat. The Izard County Sheriff’s Department is currently conducting a coat drive to help these folks according to Sheriff Tate Lawrence. New or slightly used and clean coats and jackets are being collected at the sheriff’s office located at 300 Circle Drive in Melbourne and at the sheriff’s substation in Horseshoe Bend. Should anyone have questions, the sheriff’s office can be contacted at 368-4203.
