12/27/2016 ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT RESULTS IN ARREST |

Following a one vehicle accident the night of December 21 on old highway 69 east of Melbourne, the driver of the vehicle was arrested. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Caleb Girard Howell, age 23 of Melbourne was charged with driving while intoxicated –drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Howell posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,940 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a February 2 court date. Cpl. Richard Williams was the arresting officer. Brittany Ann Burch, age 30 of Walnut Ridge was arrested December 21 on a felony failure to appear and was placed on a probation/parole hold. Burch remains in the Izard County Detention facility without bond and has a circuit court date of January 19. Deputy Doyle Cross was the arresting officer. Logan Caudell, Jr., age 51 of Horseshoe Bend was jailed December 19 on a department of correction hold. Caudell was released December 21 by his probation officer. Caitlin Taylor Haynes, age 20 of Mountain View was arrested December19 for resisting arrest. At time of her arrest, Hynes tested positive for illegal substances to include methamphetamine. Haynes was released the following day to Baxter County authorities to answer charges in that jurisdiction. David Aaron Koonce, a familiar name to local law enforcement, was arrested December 19 on a Stone County warrant. Koonce, age 33 of Melbourne was transported to Stone County the day of his arrest.
