According to Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley, the Izard County Sheriff’s Department received a call in reference to two young girls running down the Day Road wearing tee shirts and no pants. Deputy Mike Foster responded to the call and found the girls in a field off of the Day Road. It was determined that one of the girls was fifteen years old. She alleged that she had been sexually assaulted. The girls were transported to White River Medical Center in Highland to get checked out. A 34 year old male suspect of Horseshoe Bend was taken into custody without incident and placed on a investigative hold pending formal charges.
