IZARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT SHERIFF EARNIE BLACKLEY

According to Chief Deputy Charles Melton, on December 29, Deputy Sean Tomlinson made a traffic stop on Highway 56 near Cook Lane in Calico Rock. During the stope Deputy Tomlinson located a small bag that contained a substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine. As a result, Lynn Eugene Young, age 58 of Oxford, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class "C" felony, and as a habitual offender, an unclassified enhancement. Young's bond was set at $20,000 with a court date of January 14 in the Izard County Circuit Court.

On January 1, Trooper Lively made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 223 close to Cross Roads in the Pineville area. During the traffic stop, Lively located a small bag containing a crystalline substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine. As a result, Bobby Wayne Hubbard, age 34 of Pineville, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class "D" felony, and as a habitual offender, an unclassified enhancement. Hubbard's bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of January 14 in the Izard County Circuit Court.

On January 3 in the early morning hours, deputies were called to a residence in Franklin for a domestic disturbance with a firearm involved. Upon arrival the suspect, Mark D. McComas, had left the residence. During the investigation, along victim and witness interviews, it was determined that the firearm was discharged next to the victim but not at anyone. McComas had allegedly made threats to kill witnesses as well. As a result, Mark D. McComas, age 63 of Mammoth Springs, was arrested in Sharp County and transported to the Izard County Jail. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, a class "D" felony, and two counts of terroristic threatening, a class "D" felony. McComas' bond was set at $20,000 with a court date of January 14 in the Izard County Circuit Court.

On January 3, Eric Lance Stevens, age 41 of Hamburg, was arrested in Ashley County and transported to Izard County. He was arrested for failure to appear on a felony warrant.  There has been no bond issued and a court date of January 14 in the Izard County Circuit Court.

On December 30, Nicholas Adam Staggs, age 33 of Pineville, was arrested by Deputy Evan Jones for domestic battery and violation of a no contact order. Staggs was currently out on bond from a previous charge. As a result, Staggs' bond was revoked and he is being held with no bond. Staggs court date on these charges is January 23 in the Izard County District Court.

On January 1, Danny Steve Collins, age 64 of Mountain Home, was arrested by Trooper Lively for improper display of license plate, DWI, refusal to submit, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Collins' bond was set at $8,085 with a court date of February 20 in the Izard County District Court.

On January 3, Micah Hoyt Nemec, age 59 of Calico Rock, was arrested by Trooper Lively for no tail lights, driving with a suspended license, DWI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Nemec's bond was set at $4,455 with a court date of February 20 in the Izard County District Court.

On January 3, Jeffery Burdge, age 56 of Joplin Mo., was arrested by Deputy Jason Jordan for driving on a suspended license, DWI, and possession of a controlled substance. Burdge's bond was set at $2,315 with a court date of January 9 in the Izard County District Court.

On January 3, Jeremy Allen Woods, age 41 of Calico Rock, was arrested by Deputy Tyler Webb for battery 3rd degree. Woods' bond was set at $500 with a court date of January 23 in the Izard County District Court.

On January 4, Lawrence Wayne Atkins Jr., age 47 of Horseshoe Bend, was arrested by Deputy Nick Taylor for criminal trespass, public intoxication, and resisting arrest. Atkins' bond was set at $1,780 with a court date of February 4 in the Izard County District Court.
