Moser Faces Additional Charges

Jeffery Chase Moser, age 21 of Melbourne faces additional charges of theft of property and furnishing prohibited articles into a jail.  Moser is accused of stealing items from an office in the sheriff’s department while being granted a contact visit with relatives during his incarcerating on previous charges to include theft of property and  felony residential burglary. The theft of property charge is a  class “a” misdemeanor while the furnish prohibited articles is a class “c” felony. Moser remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on an Arkansas Department of Correction  probation violation.

Izard County deputies responded Friday afternoon to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 66 near Franklin.  According to reports, a Ford pickup truck  overturned throwing one passenger from the bed of the truck some 23 feet from the vehicle.  A passenger in the cab of the truck was pinned beneath the truck.  The driver of the vehicle, forty three year old Geoffrey L. Erwin of Calico Rock, fled the scene of the accident  on foot.  Erwin was later arrested coming out of the woods by Chief Deputy Ernie Blackley.  Erwin faces charges to include driving while intoxicated -second offense, failure to report an accident, criminal impersonation, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and other traffic violation. Erwin was released from the Izard County Detention Facility on Sunday after posting bond in the amount of $10,000.

Christopher W. Ludwig, age 58 of Newburg Road, Melbourne was arrested Saturday on a theft of services warrant.  Ludwig is accused of stealing electricity from a utility provider.  Ludwig posted bond in the amount of $500 the day of his arrest and was released from the Izard County  Detention Facility.

Alexander Blake Rouse, age 18 of Melbourne was arrested Saturday on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Rouse is accused of inflicting physical injury to his wife. Rouse was released from the Izard County Detention Facility after posting bond.

Billy D. Turner, age 39 of Lunen Street, Melbourne was arrested Sunday for disorderly conduct.  Turner was released with a court date.
