Three additional felony charges has been filed against a Melbourne man whose has been incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Facility  on a number of previous felonies, a misdemeanor, and probation violation.  Jeffery Chase Moser, age 20  has been recently charged with residential burglary, a class “b” felony; theft of property, a class “c” felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a class “d’ felony.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Moser is accused of stealing two firearms from a residence in the Bone Town area of Izard County.  Moser sold one the firearms, a Remington 870 Wingmaster which has been recovered and  valued at $500 , to  a Brockwell man earlier in the summer for $150. The other firearm, a Remington 1100, has not been recovered.   Bond on the new charges is $20,000.  In total, Moser is charged with six felonies, one misdemeanor, and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on these charges and a hold by the Arkansas Department of Correction.

A Missouri man being held in the Izard County Detention Facility on a public intoxication-drugs charge faces additional charges.  John Wesley Currington,  age 35 of Evlins, Missouri wile being transported from jail to the emergency room at a Calico Rock hospital became extremely aggressive in his attempt to escape custody and in doing so broke out the rear window of a patrol car. After receiving initial treatment at Calico Rock, Currington was transferred to the intensive care unit of a Batesville hospital where he remained for two days. In addition to the initial public intoxication charge, Currington faces charges of criminal mischief first degree,  two counts of defacing a public facility, four courts of obstructing governmental operations, criminal attempt, and escape first degree.   According a witness, before Currington’s arrest on pubic intoxication charges, he swallowed a bag of methamphetamine and the bag likely  disintegrated in his stomach causing a delayed emergency medical situation and severe reactions. According to Sheriff Lawrence, Currington posted bond Friday and was taken back to Missouri by relatives.

A Friday night traffic stop by Deputy Mark Simino on Old Dolph Road resulted in the arrest of a Christopher Owens, age 19 of Dolph.  Owens was charged with careless and prohibited driving along with driving while intoxicated.  According to Simino’s report, Owens’s vehicle was observed maneuvering side to side on the roadway and was making sudden stops in the roadway then quickly accelerating forward.  After failing numerous field sobriety tests on the scene and a breath alcohol concentration tests at the jail, Owens was incarcerated until the following day when he posted bond.  At the time of booking into jail, Owens tested positive for marijuana. 

Steven Wayne Tate, age 29 of Violet Hill was arrested  Friday by Independence County authorities  on a Sharp County warrant and an Izard County child support enforcement warrant.  Tate is a person of interest in several theft cases in Izard County.  Tate remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond and a hold by Sharp County.

Two inmates in the Izard County Detention Facility were further charged following a physical altercation that occurred in the jail.  Thomas Smith, Jr., age 19 of Salem and David Michael Fiss, age 20 of Salesville were each charged with assault first degree, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental.  Smith required medical attention at a Calico Rock emergency room and was returned to jail.
A Dolph woman, Jeana Leann Dickerson, age 40 was arrested Saturday at her residence on Baxter County warrant. Dickerson was transported by Baxter County authorities from the Izard County Detention Facility to the Baxter County Jail.

Michelle Renea Schliewe, age 34 of Mountain View was arrested September 21 on a violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant.  Schliewe posted bond the same day in the amount of $1,260 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Rhonda Jewell Kelly, age 56 of Melbourne was arrested September 21 on a Sharp County hot check warrant.  Kelly posted bond the day of her arrest in the amount of $120 and was released.

Ricky Lynn Loosey, age 33 of Calico Rock was arrested Friday on a failure to pay warrant.  Loosey posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $1,300 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Christopher Shane Cline, age 35 of Paragould was arrested Saturday on a failure to appear warrant.  Cline remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
