10/04/2010 NORFORK MAN ARRESTED ON NUMEROUS CHARGES |

A Norfork man was arrested early Thursday morning at a Calico Rock convenience store on numerous charges. Lawrence Arden Parnell, age 61 of 1383 Shied Road was charged with public intoxication- drugs, two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespass. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Deputy J. T. Baker was dispatched to the store after a store employee complained there was an intoxicated male at the store who refused to leave. The vehicle Parnell was driving was reported as stolen from Independence, Missouri. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been taken from the Cattlemen Exchange where , according to Parnell, his daughter in law worked and that she had driven it to his residence a few days earlier. He said that he had borrowed it to take friends to their home in Calico Rock . The vehicle was towed to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the information was passed to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department for further investigation. Parnell posted bond the following day in the amount of $3,270 and was released. |
