BOGUS CHECKS PASSED IN MELBOURNE
Bogus payroll checks and employee bonus checks were passed at two grocery stores in Melbourne on Sunday, November 14 th. The checks were passed between 6:40 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. by a young white male with red hair wearing a FedEx uniform, both shirt and jacket. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that merchants should be wary of persons attempting to cash out of town checks especially after management has left the business for the day. Lawrence also said that payroll checks in even dollar amounts should also raise anyone recognize the person captured on the store video surveillance camera should call the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.
