A Thursday morning visit to a residence on Corinth Road near Pineville by members of the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, the Arkansas Department of Correction, and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force resulted in arrest of the home’s occupant. Arrested on numerous drug related charges was Luke Keith Teague, age 56 of 3276 Corinth Road.
While searching the residence, Deputy J.T. Baker located in the kitchen area of the house plastic bags with trace amounts of marijuana and one set of digital scales. Deputy Baker also located a bag of green vegetable material and seeds identified as being marijuana and marijuana seeds. In a separate area of the kitchen Deputy Baker located two plastic bags also containing marijuana seeds. In another area of the house Izard County Chief Investigator Charles Melton located six plastic bags containing marijuana seeds and one bag containing marijuana. Deputy Gabe Sanders located a set of digital scales in a bedroom of the house.
According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, Teague was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class “d” felony; possession with the intent to manufacture marijuana, a class “c” felony; and possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia, class “c’ felony. Teague was charged under the habitual offender act. Teague remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $100,000 bond .
Sheriff Lawrence commented that he expects additional drug related arrests in the area as there is not a great deal of honor among drug dealers and they have a strong tendency to “rat” on their competition.
