Drug charges were formalized January 31 against two brothers from the Calico Rock area. Nicholas B. Speak, age 33 has been charged in Izard County Circuit court with felony drug counts. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the charges include the manufacturing of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a class “y” felony; possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a class “c“ felony; possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, a class “b” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, a class “c” felony. A younger brother, Nathaniel Allen Speak was charged with conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a class “a” felony. At the time of their arrest, both Speak brothers tested positive for marijuana, meth, and amphetamines and remain in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond in the amount of $20,000.
Following a report of a party involving underage drinkers, Jamie Clayton Stapleton, age 31 was charged January 31 with six counts of the Arkansas Social Host law. These charges related to minors being furnished or allowed drink alcoholic beverages. Stapleton posted bond the same day in the amount of $1,500, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility
A Dolph man, forty one year old Tony Alfonso Grigg, was arrested Friday and is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility on a child support warrant and pending formal charges related to drugs.
Jerry Lynn Springer, age 37 of the J Bar J community near Melbourne was arrested February 3 on multiple charges stemming from a report of a drunk driver in that community. Springer was charged with driving while intoxicated, fleeing, careless and prohibited driving, operating a vehicle with license plates, driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and driving an unsafe vehicle. Springer posted bond the following day in the amount of $3,565, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Springer has a court appearance pending in Izard County District Court for a prior DWI arrest.
Kerie F. Dunn, age 44 of Melbourne was arrested January 30 on harassment warrant. Dunn was given a court and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Luke Keith Teague, age 56 of Pineville was transported Friday from the Izard County Detention Facility to the Arkansas Department of Correction.. Teague had been awaiting prison bed space following a sentence in the Izard County Circuit Court.
