09/26/2011 TWO CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE THEFT-RELATED CRIMES |

Two men, one from Batesville and the other from Mount Vernon have been charged in connection with the theft of property from a residence near the Antioch Baptist Church on Izard County Road 80. The arrests were made following a citizen’s report that two suspicious vehicles were in the vicinity of the residence of Dan Anderson who was away from the residence at the time. Deputies Mark Simino and Gabe Sanders responded to the scene where the two were placed into custody and a search was made for a third person who was thought to be on the property. The North Central Prison Unit dog team assisted in the effort to locate the third person who was not located. The residence and outbuildings were broken into and several items were found stockpiled on the property. Found at the residence were Kenneth Lee Wright, age 34 of Mount Vernon and Leon Blake Kelly, age 45 of Batesville. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that each were charged with four counts of breaking or entering, each a class “d” felony; residential burglary, a class “b” felony, criminal attempt to steal property, a class “a misdemeanor; Wright and Kelley remain in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond in the amount of $40,000 each.
