Felony forgery charges were brought against a Salem woman following an investigation by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department. Jennifer Marie Thompson, age 34 whose address was listed as 354 Country Springs Road is accused of forging the signature on checks written to two Melbourne food stores in the amounts of some $560.00 to one and $245 to the other. Thompson was arrested November 8 on these two charges of forgery in the first degree, each a class “b’” felony and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $40,000 bond. Additional charges for Izard County are being prepared. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Thompson likely faces similar charges in other counties as it was determined during the course of the investigation that Thompson had forged checks outside of Izard County. Ben Fitzsimmons, age 19 of Poughkeepsie was arrested November 3 on a probation revocation related to earlier felony burglary Robert W. Stowers, age 19 of Dolph was arrested October 31 following an earlier arrest warrant accusing Stowers of unlawfully destroying the property of another. Specifically, Stowers is accused of busting out the windshield and side mirror of Grant Bray’s Pontiac Grand Am while the vehicle was parked at the end of Raymond Branscum’s drive way off of state high highway 223. Stowers posted a $250 bond the day of his arrest and given a court date for this class “a” misdemeanor of criminal mischief. Travis Lee Cagle, age 32 of Calico Rock was arrested November 9 on parole revocation.. Cagle remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no bond status. Izard County Deputies were dispatched November 4 to River View Road in Sylamore in response to a domestic violence call. According to reports, a girlfriend/boyfriend argument escalated into a physical fight and both were arrested. Charged with domestic battering third degree were Matthew C. Cotton, age 38 and Tina Leeann Massardo, age 33, both of the River View address. Both latter posted bond and were released from the Izard County Detention Facility. While on patrol in Melbourne November 5th, Deputy Phil Story observed a domestic in progress at bank parking lot. Arrested were Eldenia Heath, age 51 of Melbourne and her boyfriend identified as James Brooks, age 41 of Cave City. Both stated the argument resulting in a physical altercation began as the result of Brooks advising Heath that he was discontinuing their relation and returning to his wife. Both were charged with domestic battery third degree. Both were released after appearing before Izard County District Judge David E. Miller and given a court date. In another domestic violence call, deputies were dispatched to the Oxford area on November 5th after receiving a call from a male that a female was intoxicated and making threats toward him. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the female , identified as Eric Roberts, age 22 of Oxford had grabbed the arm of Bobby Greenway as he was driving on School Street and continued to chase after his truck yelling obscenities. Greenway stated he reached for his pepper spray to deter Roberts but that he never sprayed Roberts, who was charged with domestic battering third degree and brought to the Izard County Detention Facility. Roberts was released November 8 after posting bond in the amount of $200. Cacia Fawn Patterson, age 20 of Calico Rock was arrested November 10 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance. Patterson was released with a court date from the Izard County Detention Facility due to medical reason. Dorothy Marie Friend, age 45 of Mtn. Home was arrested November 3 on the charge of theft of property. This related to Friend stealing items from a truck in Calico Rock.
Joshua Shane Dockins, age 25 of Oxford was arrested November 4 on a harassing communications warrant. Dockins is accused of harassing a female acquaintance by phone. Dockins was released later the day of his arrest and given a court date. Following a traffic stop, Eric Lance Stevens of Calico Rock was arrested November 9 for driving on a revoked license. Stevens posted bond in the amount of $350 the day of his arrest and was released with a court date. Matthew Thomas Martin, age 19 of Batesville was arrested on a failure to pay fines warrant. Martin made a cash bond in the amount of $1,845 on November 9 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Nathaniel Allen Lee Speak, age 28 of Calico Rock was arrested November 3 on a warrant from Marion County where Speak was transported the following day. Larry Thomas Kelly, age 41 of Ash Flat was arrested November 5 on an Independence County warrant and transferred there the same day.
